Title: Masquerade Questions?
Post by: veraca on May 11, 2009, 12:16:01 am
I couldn't really find any info about the masquerade...

I know it's requirements of a mask, cosplay and/or formal wear..
But I was wondering about props? I was wondering if (for my example) a Maka with a Soul Scythe, a Death the Kid with the toy guns and a Roxas with a keyblade and wooden box would be able to get in? Obviously we'd need someplace to store our props and I was wondering just how could we do that?

I plan to try and make the wooden box be no bigger than a standard milk-cart size (10x10x10) and be able to hold my costume, wig, and the guns in it while still functioning as a prop... But that still leaves the problem of the three large props - scythe, keyblade and box.
What are we supposed to do with them? There's obviously no "store your stuff here" place at the con that I know of x_x;

They usually have a seating area where you could set it all down. I tend to have a jacket with me and I put it over there and no one has ever stolen it. I've put my shoes over there too(shhhh!) and they don't disappear either. lol

But maybe they actually have a place for you to put stuff so don't completely listen to me on this. XD

Yeah, it's just I dont usually see pics with people with their props at the dances obviously cause there's so many people in one room.. @.@;

You can put them in your trunk or in your room.  If you take the bus/get a ride and don't have a room, see if you have friends who will let you stow your stuff in their room/car.

Ah, so there's no place to store them at the con basically.

 :D Thanks for answering that.

I'm not actually answering questions, but I have one myself:

Is formal wear necessary? I don't really have anything fancy in my closet, and my cosplay would be pretty difficult to dance in. I was hoping I could go in jeans.
