For anyone in the neighborhood (or those who don't mind driving), the Best Buy at Washington Square has all their anime marked down 50% until March 21st.

wow....I may have to go to this then :P
-
I wasn't aware there even was a Best Buy at Washington Square.
-
Neither was I and I was at that transit center every day for 6 months <.< I wonder if it is new since I moved from Beaverton.
According to Best Buy's website:

It looks like it's at cascade plaza where the sushi place is and the malibu grand pris / toys r us
-
curse the freaking drive, three hours, not a single anime store for three hours.
*cries*
-
462 stores participating and only one of them in Oregon! GRRRRRrrr. >:(
I suppose I should be happy though. That means the store in Springfield isn't dropping their anime section. ;D

Ah, hmm, interesting.
Well, sweet deal. I'm pretty sure Kahlan and I are making an emergency trip out there this afternoon then. We would under no other circumstances buy anime from Best buy because it is rarely the best buy when anime is concerned (their prices are hardly competitive with online shops), but with this sale going on, we've got to make a trip.
*Okay, we just got back from the Washington Square Best Buy...don't waste your time. There is nothing there. Nothing but Dragonball Z...and they aren't at a discount. I have no clue what they did with their anime, but it did not look like it was picked clean. It looked like they just plain got rid of it.

It's not AT wWashington Square but near it. Its in the same parking lot as the Benihanas
-
Yeah, figured that out, heh. That whole side of the highway is new to me. Looks really good, but the Best Buy was basically bare, heh.
-
you went to it already? The last time I was there it was pretty full >_> but that was a month or two ago.
-
Yeah, we went right after I posted earlier in the afternoon. I just modded the post instead of adding a new one and double posting, heh
-
I see....sorry I missed that ^_^
well that is too bad, it's ok though I didn't have the money for it anyway :P

I wasn't aware more than one store was having the sale. The Best Buy out at Jantzen Beach had the same sale, though I found out later it's because that store is getting rid of their anime section because the store is so small.
I stopped by there Friday and Saturday and picked up a couple things but they didn't have a lot left, and they didn't have too many first volume DVDs... I hate starting a new series right in the middle of it.
I did pick up the boxed set of Gurren Lagann, though, which was usually around $42, but it was half off... I couldn't believe they had it. Two volumes, awesome box, and an LED core drill. I had to have it.
I also picked up volume two of Glass Fleet. I'm not too impressed with the series but it was worth $5... Gives me two volumes now, heh. Picked up volume one of Basilisk and volume three (I think?) of Fruits Basket...
They had a ton of Dragon Ball Z and Code Geass... too much of it. Heh.
-
went to the one in near wash mall, had tons of dbz and thats it,
tempting to drive over to janzen beach now
-
The shipped their anime off to others stores thats why it was so picked clean.

Wouldn't surprise me.
In all honesty, though, I much prefer Fry's over Best Buy... and sometimes even Suncoast/Sam Goody/the other store they own. They tend to have a pretty good selection and the prices are much more reasonable... for anime and pretty much everything else.
Maybe it's just me but Best Buy never really seems to have the "best buy". o.O

They do if you're a cult horror/weird movie fan, haha. That's where I always go to get my bizarre horror films. Nobody else ever carries anything close to Best Buy in horror (if you ask me).

Heh heh, well that's definitely not me. I don't have the stomach for horror films. :P
