My school had a lockdown today. I was in my ASL class when this happen. Some dude robed a bank. Here the story http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/kgw_011209_news_beaverton_bank_robbery.1ba0f6bf.html (http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/kgw_011209_news_beaverton_bank_robbery.1ba0f6bf.html).
Dose anyone else have lockdown stories?

In elementary school we had a lockdown, and one of my friends was crying. Then the guys started making jokes about how they'd trow one of the twins out there, then once he was shot, they'd throw the other one, and the guy would think they were multiplying and run like hell. It was funny as hell at the time... never mind, still is.
Yay weird boys in my fifth grade class!
oh yeah, it turned out it was just some guy with a paintball gun... god my teachers were dumb (Love them, but that was just stupid)
-
We where joking about who would we want to be taken hostage. XD Yes we are weird at are school too.
-
I think we all are... I bet if we had another lock down one of my mean guy friends would throw Kyle (the guy everyone picks on) out there, as long as we knew it wasn't a real lock down.
Never mind, he'd do it if it was a real lock down.
My guy friends are poos...

I have a terrible one, one that affects me personally.
My junior year, (1999-2000), some of my friends, two males and one female, killed the female's father. It was a brutal murder.
About three weeks later, the police had the idea that all three of them were at the high school (which was funny since one of them graduated, one of them was a drop-out, and the other one had been skipping school for over a week).
When the lockdown happened, I was in the Home Ec room, during lunch, about to have an FBLA meeting. Altogether, there was about two other guys and about a dozen girls. One of the Home Ec teachers rushed in, freaking out, and calling in some of the students (all female) for their protection.
We stayed in there for about 2 hours. During this time, I stayed at the front door as a "watchman," which the teacher didn't like very much. Also, me and the two guys decided that, if someone was running around the school with guns aiming to kill us all, we'd go out fighting. We grabbed the sharpest knifes we could, ready to kill the "gunman" that we had conjured up.
About half an hour later, our security guard and a Washougal police officer came in & told us it was okay.
The people they were looking for were on the other side of the city at the time of the lockdown. We really had no reason to freak out.
-
and they didn't tell you that why?
-
I assume that they didn't want the students to panic anymore than they already had. I was able to find out quickly because the mother of my best friend, the male who was dating the female at the time, told me that evening as she was crying her brains out.
-
@washougal: I'm sorry >< that sounds like it was really traumatic for you...
-
Thank you, NightLotus.
It was pretty traumatizing. My grades suffered, my wrestling suffered, and to make it all worse, I knew that they were gonna do it; I just didn't believe it when they told me (which was about two days before the murder).
-
wow I appreciate that you are willing to tell us this story :)
-
Well, the way I see it is this, you guys are now some of my closest friends. I should be able to share with you guys my past. Besides, I'm over it now. The wounds have healed, and I have new friends to thank for that. ;)

Last early release we had, there was a gun scare. They locked down the elementary, middle, and high school that are all right by each other.
Since it was a half day, we all had gone out to eat before our play rehearsal 'cause it was lunch time right about when school ended. We didn't have enough space in cars for everyone to get to where we were going, so we left two people behind that someone was going to go back and drive after they dropped others off. So we were all at Wendy's except for those two when we got reports of this lockdown and how the person was at our school. Then we all got really worried, because all of our stuff was left at the school and we had no idea how long the lockdown was going to be. And then we heard that the person that went to get our two cast members that got left behind was too late and those guys were still stuck in there. My friend devised this scenario that the weapon carrier had planned to come during lunch and shoot people but must not have known about the early release.
It was all for naught though, the lockdown was short and I'm pretty sure the guy just had an airsoft gun.

holy shiz that would be scary...

When the columbine high school shooting happened, my little sister was going to the school the next district over. My dad and I were crossing our fingers that she didn't have a game or anything there that day. It was a little stressful but she was fine.

we had a lockdown when i was in 8th grade. It was during english class right after lunch. Some estranged women was wondering campus. We all had to sit along the walls with the lights off being quiet. It was all fine till some of the girls wouldn't shudup.
Girl 1: What if a bull wandered on campus
Girl 2: omg and it was liek chasing you down the halls
Girl 3: Omg that would be sooo scary
8 minutes of this retarded disscusion later
me: SHUDUP!!!
Teacher: Jeff, girls no talking!!
only other thing about lockdowns that was real memorable for me was my sixth period teacher telling us that if we were outside the classroom when a lockdown started that he would lock us out and leave us for dead. Oh and if you showed up at the door he wouldn't let you in no matter what. This statement spawned a whole buncha what if scenarios wich took over class for the remainder of the period. fun times

It's almost comical, the range of lockdown feelings. They range from: "Traumatized" to "Good times, good times"
yeah, wide range. Then again, we have a wide range of people, so, I'd guess we'd have a wide range of answers.
And Kogaryu,
um... a bull?
Creative... I guess.
