ALL OF THIS REALLY FREAKING SUCKS.
My parents refuse to drive anywhere today, even though ALL of our cars are 4-wheel drive. Tomorrow there's supposed to be 8 inches of snow and then freezing rain on top of that.
This means that:
1) I'll be trapped inside and won't be able to go anywhere at all because there's no public transportation near where I live.
2) I'm not going to be able to see my Dad for Christmas because PDX is closed and his flight can't get in
3) I can't see Meg before she leaves for the Bahamas for two weeks and then who knows how long until I get back from school.
4) I'm going to start killing bitches because I hate my family and I've been stuck inside this house with them for 9 days.
THIS REALLY EFFING SUCKS.

Wow. Sorry to hear that this break isn't gonna go so great for ya. Although personally, I can see where your parents are coming from by not driving out in this weather. Still, if I could drive, I'd be willing to come down there & take you around places, especially to see Meg before her trip to the Bahamas (I'm jealous now). Perhaps the weather will lighten up prior to her departure...

Have you finished watching ST: TNG?
Well, no, I'm just starting season 5. Although you were right about one month being too short of time to watch it all, I was kinda hoping to have finished by now. Then again, I had to help get my house ready for my landlord about a month ago, and lately I've been helping out with getting things ready for Hannukah.
On a plus note, the next episode to watch is my alltime favorite, "Darmok." I love this episode! I was once at a church service and the guest speaker had used this episode as an example of how communicating with different people can be difficult sometimes.
But yeah, anyway, I will be done by the January meeting. In fact, maybe I'll go watch that episode now...

If we're on this subject, we missed my lovely cousin's funeral today because of the snow. :'(
The Christmas celebration for the homeless was also canceled at my church because it was to be held at the university... which is closed. Meaning, I couldn't give the homeless girl what might be her only present for the holidays.
I had to make it over to my sister's house because she wanted to divorce her husband after they got into a physical fight. I bought them all dinner and helped patch things up for a little bit by listening and being attentive to everyone. And then there's my mother who's been stuck in a rotting trailer on a mountain crying uncontrollably because there's no sign of civilization and she has no running water and her telephone connection goes out frequently. Plus, Josh has to work nearly every day out there (he just finished working 8 days in a row before he got two days off).
Despite all of this however, I refuse to give in and have a bad time. Life is too short to regret and I'm going to make the best of whatever situation. ^^
Cheer up, man.

Nowadays, we tend to take everything for granted. In times like this, I just thank God I've got a warm home. :-\

I know its kinda the reverse of your post Mustash but I am REALLY hopping that I can make it down to see my family for Christmas. It would break my heart if I was stuck up here for the holidays.
Sorry you have been stuck at home, I know David is going stircrazy and if it wasnt for work Im sure I would be too. Ive had to cancel on too many friends though just cause I dont want to risk it.
Just think, it IS still the North West. It wont last. Just hang in there and make the best of what you can.

It is the same way for me, Deviant. If the weathers holds up how it is I won't be able to go down to my parents for Christmas..and this is the first year in the past four that I have been able to take the time off work for it <.<

I have been out and about plenty and right now I would really like to be home, as is if we can't find some one to come in at 2 I might not be able to get home :(

So Lotus, are you having more Denny's, as nothing else is open, except 7-11, and your folks don't want to have their meals that way? Just think though, that ought to be great for sticking to any diet you may be experiencing. Or for commencing a diet you hadn't even planned on starting, which is more likely the case here.
