For all of you that went thanks for making it such a great success!
We're also doing it again next year! We'll have a much bigger room, and a better stocked buffet!
Also, if you took pictures please post them because I didn't have time to take any while running the event.
-
Wow that was a popular event! My friend and I couldn't even get in =(!
I hope everyone had a great time though 8DDD
-
I was the only one in the girl's uniform :3
That was so much fun~! The only downside, I think, was that I slid and hit my knee on the floor pretty hard during the first round of Duck Duck Goose. D:
But really, I had close to no idea what to do and I'm shy, so I didn't talk much...I felt like I was neglecting people D:
(I'll be better next year, I promise~)
Some pictures:

I wish I'd gotten more, but I didn't have my camera out a lot.
-
Well I took a ton of pictures on totemo's camera so she'll most likely post those soon :D Good job, you guys!
PS- Will you punch your friend Tamaki for me? He stole her rose D:<

I was a slave. :'(
<-- Haruhi...one of them.
Hahaha! Even though it was hard work, I'm glad people had a good time.
I want pictures.
lol.
-
my friends and i arrived kinda late, but we were the haruhi, female kyoya, and halfway-done hunny-sempai. :) we didn't do much because we weren't quite sure what to do, so sorry about that one, guys. xD;; we'll try better next year if we do ouran. it was a lot of fun though!
-
I went!
But they had no cups for tea at the time.
My friends kept complaining about the cake.
I like it anyway. I love carrot cake.
-
I'm sorry. We were a bit unorganized... >__<
-
Hi! I was the "manga" Haruhi who came with Ranka and Haruhi in her pink one-piece. We had a great time :) Thanks for pulling me out of the line to host! :D
-
I'm sorry. We were a bit unorganized... >__<
Ah thats fine. I though it was cool anyway. :D
-
I really, really wish I had gone now that I've been reading stuff about it. I will definetely come next year, though!
-
maybe it would be cool to have a meeting beforehand to teach some of the people hosting how to conversate (awesome word huh?) and make it known that all host club cosplayers are welcome to host? :D
buahaha
-
I'll try and hone my hosting skillz.
-
Picture I took at the group shoot:

I'll DEFINITELY be going next year. It would be neat next year to have tea coasters (there's a better word for it but I have no idea how to spell it. Starts with a 'D') placed on each table for each tea up to rest on. Basically kick it up on decorations. Maybe have some sugar bowls on each table. Though I wasn't even able to make it to the tea party this year, I hope I can contribute in any way for next year!
-
Doilies? ^___^ Those would be cute.
I also suggest we take orders and serve everyone. It was a little chaotic when everyone was rushing to get food. I served a few people.
However, when I went to get food to serve, people said I was cutting the line. D:
I was just trying to do my job! ;___;

Yeah!! I tried to serve a few people (I was Ranka~ AKA Haruhi's crossdressing papa), but then I felt bad about cutting in front of people to grab things, but then waiting in line took so long!! We did manage to to serve most of our table though, so I was happy about that! But maybe we could have little carts or something to bring around to the tables. That would be so cute!
But this was seriously the most fun I had at the con! It was so nice to have people go "OH! YOU'RE RANKA!!!" haha, love being recognized! It was also fun to be in a place where you should be in character. I had to explain to people at the table that as a fan I love Tamaki, but as Ranka I hate him (I kept glaring at the ones that came too close to the Haruhi I was with).
-
Ooh, little carts WOULD be adorable. ^__^
Yeah...I could hear people say "She's cutting!!"
and I thought...
"Can you NOT see that I'm wearing an Ouran uniform!?" >__<
-
I wonder how I can help somehow, considering I'm not cosplaying Ouran...do you think you can like have little notepads and take everyone's orders down? So that way there'll be no mistakes ^___^

Oh I'm sure that SOMEONE will get you a costume for Ouran. Theres so many choices besides the two uniforms that I'm sure something can be engineered. Heck, your Misa dress was close to the dress worn by Nekozawa's maid minion...
-
Laurifer - I could totally make you a costume. Just...something simple. lol.
-
Thank you all for the suggestions :D I want to help out next year. I don't have to necessarily be a host, but someone who can take orders from people and serve them while the hosts do what they do best!
-
You know what would be bloody brilliant?
Invitations.
Make up some little embossed invitations that would be like, tickets to the Tea Party. Figure out how many servings of cake there will be, then make sure that only that number of invitations are distributed. It will be a good way to cut off the line that is sure to be huge next year, and also give attendees a lovely little keepsake! Also, if people wanted to, oh I don't know, request an invitation before the convention then maybe Kyouya could be convinced to mail them one for a modest donation? <_<
All funds go to cake after all.
That's much better than death. ;)

good idea this is kinda like i was thinkin of doing for the cosplay weddin
-
Invitations sound cute just for the "SDFGIHASG I CAN SCRAPBOOK THIS LATER~" factor. I know it would be A LOT (of money and pieces of paper) to do this, but I think putting invitations into everyone's con bags for the event would be cute.
But that might make it too popular?
-
Instead of invitations, how about small "Thank you for attending our Tea Party" cards? :3 Maybe with a picture of all the host members! ^___^
-
I think it would be kinda exclusive to hand out invitations. I would like the event to be open to everyone. And since next year we are going to have a MUCH bigger room, I think we won't really have to worry about the HUGE lines!
MUCH bigger room eh?
Hmmmm......
*eyes his map and the numbers*
HHHMMMMM...
-
What I was actually thinking about the other day is to hand out invitations to certain people, and those people get to automatically come into the room without waiting in the line
Like...oh.... VIPs and guests perhaps? ;D
I'm sure that relations would be happy to work with you on that.
-
[raises hand] Patrick, just tell me if you want me to help with anything! ;D

me too!

If there's a minicon, you should totally arrange for an acting coach or an etiquette tutor to come in and give How to be a Good Host lecture for your crew. Once everyone has the manners down then they can use them as a tool to stay in character. Then it's just a matter of the other people at the event minding their manners.
-
If you ever need any help I am but a post away! XD But in all seriousness, if you need me for anything let me know. I was only one of the watchgaurds last year, but I think I would really enjoy hosting.
-
XD omg. [is extremely excited]
I am willing to help with anything.
-
*Laughs* Someone is a little excited. XD But no worries I have a feeling that Patrick can use all the help he can get this year. Especially now that knowledge of this panels existence is spreading.
-
Sell, or first come first serve, or...?
The hosts get in free right? ;D
I didn't even get to try any food while I was hosting. [frown]
-
Actually guys, they "pay to get in" may be a necessity from now on after they've reviewed the catering costs from the hotel. They're pretty expensive. The convention can reimburse panelists quite a bit but if one tank of coffee costs like... 40 bucks then something has to change.
I suggest that the Hosts start gathering funds to take the pressure of the con as well as the attendees. That way if there is a fee then it can be a bit smaller. Everybody wins.
Now that we have a Facilities Liaison (guspasho) you can start talking to him about what the cost will be.
...of course, you also need to know what room you'll be in.... <_<
-
I think that a low number like $3 is a perfect amount, its within the budget of the congoers considering how much a meal would be elsewhere, and also helps us cover the expenses. As long as the number stays around or below 5 I think that people will still be happy to participate.
-
Do people who want to help have to pay? Lke us?
:O Sorry I'm slightly confused [hitshead]

No, Hostes and servers get in free! ^^
yayyy :D tee-hee. ♥ I'm even more excited XDDD

This sounds like so much fun! Because of this, I may even make a Host Uniform just to participate. It sounds like you guys really had a blast last year.
-
okay I have some pics but have no idea how to post them Help!!
-
Pk I can send them to you so that you can post them if you want:}
