We all know that name badges are a must when walking around at the con. :)
My question is...does it get in the way of your cosplay at all? ???
Does having a lanyard around your neck sort of ruin the effect?
Or do you take it off when you get pictures taken?
I've recently started wondering about this. ^__^
I'd love to hear your input.
Thanks everyone!

Well, if everyone has to wear them, I don't think anyone would notice.
You could take it off for pictures, I'm sure.

I usually take it off when people ask for a picture. I say usually because every now and then I would forget to do so.
Some people also ignore the lanyard and clip the badge to their costume around chest level.

I heard that they arent letting us just wear the badges this year. Something about everyone having the same lanyard so they can tell who is in the convention. I dunno.

I know some people tie it to their pants (if they can) or around their wrist so it's less noticeable, but readily available if a staff person asks to see it. I sometimes just toss it around to my back for pics. ^^

Well, the badge doesn't bother me much. Last year it was kind of a hassle, but that is because I declined the lanyard option and just went with a clip, which meant lots of lost badge moments. This year though it should be fine, I figure. My character has his own dogtag, so it will be nice to have a tag for me, and a tag for Barret, heh.

I usually take my badge off for pictures. (like when someone asks for a picture and I put my bags/camera down I take my badge off too)
lol, I like accuracy in costumes (and roxas doesn't wear a badge with a cute chibi on it)

Last year I primarily wore my badge tied around a belt loop until I was kindly asked to wear it higher by a member of Ops. After that, I would take it off when anyone wanted a picture (which happened maybe twice over the entire con ;_; )

I suggest keeping your badge on your upper chest/neck area whether you use the lanyard or a clip. That's where the yojimbo want to see it. Con photographers will understand that they are at a convention. You can take it off at a photoshoot (in the park, outside the building, or in the photoshoot area beside the gaming hall) but it needs to stay on as much as possible otherwise. No one will complain that you are "not in character" because you are wearing your badge.
The lanyards are a key part of security this year since we mailed out the badges. You may be able to clip the lanyard to your costume rather than actually having it around your neck if that helps. I highly suggest slinging it around your back for pictures.

Thanks everyone! :3
I'm not sure why I suddenly thought about this subject~
I never thought of the slinging it to your back idea. I think I'll do that. :3

Actually, now that I think of it, my character would probably be wearing a clip-on ID badge. Of course it would have the NERV logo on it, but never mind that trivial detail.
