I realize that this section is intended for suggestions/complaints, however I'd like to use it for a thank you. I performed in the cosplay competition, in the Cosplay Hunter Goes Down Under, and after getting off stage I sort of collapsed due to cramps in both of my legs. I couldn't walk or even stand at the time and so some of the members of Bakazoku helped to get me into a wheelchair. After that I had the medics, who I think were volunteering for the convention, look at me and since I didn't have a room at a hotel they let me rest in one of the staff rooms. They took really good care of me and made me as comfortable as I could be at the time. I'd just like to say how much I appreciate everything that was done for me, to Bakazoku, the staff/volunteers, and especially the medics. You all made a really difficult situation into something I could handle, and I really can't express how much that means to me. I'm doing much better now, and I promise not to collapse at the next convention! Thanks guys!

Your Welcome!
We do our best to help people out, and appreciate the compliments.
-
I'm very glad to see you're doing better!

I would also like to say thankyou. I would say that this con has gotten me really pumped up for anime and manga. I definetly would like to help next year and do more than I did this year. Though my bank account has some grumbling at you :P
-
for all the complaints and rants about the con, it only takes one post like this to make me proud to be a yojimbo.
-
Well I really do hope you guys feel appreciated, because after all the hard work you put into this, the sleep you sacrifice, and the blood sweat and tears, you deserve it. There will always be problems, but they wouldn't be worth fixing if you didn't give us an awesome convention to go to. So, thanks, guys, for everything you do!

All Con directors, volunteers, and Yojimbo..... You have my undying admiration and thanks. From my buddy Will who kept me occupied in the pre-reg line, to Chris who did so much with the Blair project, and the wonderful woman whose name I did not catch who helped us out on Sunday night when the Medics had to come take a friend to the hospital. Thank you! *hugs and chocolates for all*

i get to help people and have fun while i do it too

oh! i remember that! me and my friend were wondering what was going on because you ran off.......then the skit stopped for a few seconds, and pretty soon everyone was running around off stage. so we thought someone had died! i'm glad to hear your doing better!

Yes, it did mess up the skit a bit, but it's probably better not to kill yourself for the sake of a cosplay show. I'm glad I'm not dead too.
-
well thats true too! i can just see it on the news:
*breaking news*
someone at this strange gathering at the red lion has just died! they claim she was doing some kind of "skit" when she tripped and fell! now her parents are trying to sue the hotel for taking the precious life of they're daughter!
lol

In such case I'm sure the convention would have been very glad they had instituted the cosplay waiver as it made my life my sole responsiblility. Also it would have been weird to die after doing a crocodile hunter sketch.
-
it would have been patheticly ironic
but still if at any point if even the thought had
crossed my mind i would have had the EMTs
there in all their glory crash cart ready and waiting
but nobody i have ever cared for has had anything
remotely deadly
so i dont really need to call the EMTs
except when the case has to do w/ head trama
then i defer all option and knowledge to the experts
but for the most part the job gets done
and alot of people get relieve
and i have fun doing it too lol
-Sean- aka MEDIC!!!

I felt like I was in very good hands, and indeed my life was not hanging in the balance.
and i have fun doing it too lol
I am both glad and a little surprised that you managed to have fun amidst all that went on.

its not that hard to have fun and still work at a con
