Title: Steampunk 2012!
Post by: dark4ever on October 01, 2011, 04:32:15 pm
Steampunk is becoming more and more popular at Kumoricon, so I thought I'd start a thread. If there's enough interest, I'll be hosting a photoshoot. After all, none of the costumes would look the same!

This also includes steampunk versions of characters. After all, I will be dressed as a Steampunk Marluxia.

Okay, so I'm going to have a photoshoot, hands down. However, I need INTEREST in this if I'm going to do it!

I had a friend of mine help me with it. It's basically a take on the coat, more of a lower class thing, apparently... going to be fun wearing three inch heels... Dang, I'm going to be 6'2" o.o

In my opinion Final Fantasy 6 is already steampunk in a lot of ways (if anything the setting). It looks like the FF6 group wouldn't really be up for changing their cosplay designs and are instead in favor of looking like the sprites so I don't know how much it would count towards joining a photoshoot like this. I think steampunk final form Kefka wings would be sexy though :P

I do Steampunk a lot ^^
I have my original Hatter which is the Victorian style. But not really Steampunk. Though, I'd love to make it so. But sadly, I probably wont be bringing any to Kumo.

There is a con in Portland during the summer called Gearcon, that is all Steampunk. I know I'm going to that and will be doing a few outfits for that ^^

FFVI would be so easy to steampunkify, wouldn't it? That sounds so cool... I have a friend who cosplays Green Hair!Terra... so want to get her to steampunk it.

Neko, you should bring it! Or your Cheshire Cat one... though looking at your list, you have enough to do o.o

I'd love to bring Steampunk to Kumo, but yeah. I've got enough cosplays for now...

I am hoping to finally finish my Steampunk Cheshire Cat >w>

I think I may plan to do a couple Steampunk outfits for 2013~
(Hope there is Mewcon next year...would be perfect to do an Apocalypse theme XD)

Oh, so want a Mewcon next year... you have no idea how bummed I am about the lack of one this year. I was so stoked to have a reason to finish Marly by December, though considering how little I actually have to do, he might actually be done by then... I have every single piece except the goggles and the shoes.

Nice.
I'm working on a Steampunk Zuko from Avatar, b/c I think it'd just be fun. I'd love to get an Avatar group to do Steampunk with me. But this is mainly for the fun of it right now.

Agreed. I'm probably gonna do something like that. I'm thinking of also making an eye mask, b/c Zuko would wear one to try to hide the scar. But I'd be afraid of looking like the Phantom of the Opera...

But yeah, I love doing Steampunk versions of characters. I've seen a Star Wars group that was really awesome!

What about doing a steampunk eyepatch that's just a little oversized? I'd look really freaking cool
