pretty simple...
I want to learn to swing dance.
-
I want to swim with sharks!
It's been a lifelong dream.
-
Pretty complex...
I would like to travel to a few places to do a few things...
I'd like to go to Austria to listen to the Vienna Philharmonic, then to Mariazell in winter to look at the beautiful snow covered architecture.
I would like to live in Helsinki, Finland for a while. While there I want to attend every metal/rock concert possible.
I would like to go to the more rural areas of Japan to soak in some of the history firsthand.
I would like to go to Lithuania to soak in my heritage. While there, I plan to place a cross on the Hill of Crosses despite myself not being Christian. I believe instead that it is a place of hope and peace; something everyone, no matter what their religion is, to strive for.
At some point, I would like to stop someone from committing suicide. It's a life. It should not be discarded.
As I already know how to swing dance (Rather badly), I would like to learn how to tango. Maybe I'll do that in Finland.
-
Whatever I end up doing is fine~ = A =
-
Ah I meant the thread concept was easy, not my ambition. I also would like to write, direct and maybe act in movies.
-
want to go swimin with anime fans! Tomarow.
-
Win the lottery. lol
-
I want to adopt and raise a pet baby Serval! Take care of it for its entire life! Seriously! Check out youtube! It looks like an awesome life experience! :D (It used to be legal to own one in my area...but became illegal for some silly reason... *sigh* maybe someday...)
-
I want to be filthy rich and have a harem of anime fan girls
-
Travel all over Japan or live there.
-
I've thought to get my English degree, and get an advanced degree in it, and go teach in Japan after I retire, maybe.
-
Figure out if there are additional soulmates for me in this lifetime, either that I haven't met yet, or that I've met but not realized the depth of our connection yet, in addition to the ones I've been blessed to know & recognize in this & other lifetimes.
Figure out the best ways to be connected with cycles of nature for me in what's left of my lifetime.
Keep my beloved cat safe and healthy & feeling loved for our whole lives together. Yet, find a perfect cat sitter so that I can still travel.
Go to Spain while I can still speak Spanish. Cruise the Mediterranean to Italy while I'm in the neighborhood. Return if possible to Greece & Israel.
Feel more deeply connected to G-d.
& Rid my life of emotional drama & of people who are passive-aggressive.
-
Visit Japan.
Visit Los Vegas.
Visit California.
Visit some other random country (possibly Italy because i love Italian food =3=)
Have a squirrle as a pet.
Have a cat as a pet.
Have a ferret as a pet.
Have a rat as a pet.
Get married.

Washougal_Otaku, your okonomiyaki dream can easily come true. Uwajimaya sells Bull Dog sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, okonomiyaki flour, bonito flakes, and dashi stock pellets that dissolve in water.
Then all you really need is oil, a frying pan, toppings like shrimp or egg, etc, and shredded cabbage.
I made it all the time after my friend taught me how. It's so ridiculously easy.
I personally want to go to Japan and see a haniwa in person. I'll probably cry when I do.
I want to go camping in Hawaii in a tent on the beach.
Utah has an awesome dinosaur museum that I must go to. It is essential.
I want to get a job in the art field and make a decent wage so I can take care of myself.
I want to have a pig as a pet. Pigs are really smart! And really cute! Look! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fySirawnXIw
I want to be able to run a 5K.
And I would absolutely adore going to another Blazers games. Hopefully a closer seat than last time XD;

Whatever I end up doing is fine~ = A =
I lied.
I want to have a pet bunny walk around my Portland apartment, while I eat cake.
That is my dream in life.

Okay that quite literally cracked me up.
Is there somewhere that sells okonomiyaki? I had never heard it it til your post, it's some kind of pancakish thing?
I've been to Scotland, if you go I will give you some pointers. Ditto Israel, I have cousins & friends there who are cool whom you could hang out with if you make it there.
<<EDIT>> Wow I am really learning a lot from this thread. I did not know what an haniwa was. Thanks, Lychee-Twist.

Shay, get a Puka (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0042546/) Those are magic rabbits, 6' tall. Or was Harvey taller.
Washou, I saw a Seahawks game back in 1996. I took my little brother. THey were playing the Packers. Bret Favre was the QB. Packers won the SUper Bowl that year. I slept through most of the second half. I was in Hawaii the night before. Part of my vacation from Hell. I hate the San Francisco airport with a purple passion to this day.
-
-See the world
-Go narwhal watching
-Play in an orchestra
-Fall in love
-Getting something I wrote published somewhere
-Go skydiving
Aaaand that's all I can think of at the moment...
-
Um, are there directions available there? I'm not good at winging or guessing how to make food.
Also the recipe is one of my cook books, "lets cook japanese" I can show you some time
chicken katsu is a house fave
-
I love Harvey.
You couldn't pay me to skydive.
I love this thread.
Ditto on the seeing something I wrote published. I mean, I have seen many things that I have written or photographed (and many things I have edited) published, but mostly those were political articles (and midwifery textbooks), journalistic articles, rarely poems or stories.
I love getting to know more of each of you through this thread.

Make a good confession.
Also if possible time it as close after Mercy Sunday (used to be called 'Low Sunday') as possible, so that my time and pain in Purgatory would be reduced or shortened to whatever extent possible.

I would love to understand what this means and to look at its relation to the comparable concepts of asking via the collective Kol Nidre ceremony, the whole community taking accountability for everyone's sins, annually to be rewritten for another year into the Book of Life on Yom Kippur after personally atoning in the 10 Days of Awe.
Oh, and I would LOVE to know if there are any anime, manga, games, etc. in which you see practices & themes of confessional, redemption, purgatory, expressed, to your understanding, *accurately*.

I'd like to see the Louvre, the Museum of Technology in Lyon, France, (they have the world's first fax machine there, it's over 150 years old), the British Museum, the leaning tower of Pisa, Venice, Milan, Florence, the Gaudy cathedral in Barcelona, St. Peter's in Rome, Mad King Ludwig's castle, gawd, I think about every place Rick Steeve's has ever been really.
I think I need to retire and walk Europe.
Walk Japan. I wonder if the old roads from say Osaka to Edo still exist, or if that is the Bullet train tracks now.
I'd like to see someone making Turkish Delight.
Just think of all the impossible things I want to do, but they just aren't options. Like pick up space junk in outer space. Voyage at Warp Speed to go kick some Klingon butt! Fire a blaster. Chop a cord of wood with a light saber. lol Be made a foot taller, and younger so I can play basketball professionally as a center.
-
@ Jaybug,
there are walking tours run by a lady in Eugene that go all over the world. "Walk With Me" is the name of her newsletter. I've seen it around Sacred Heart. If you're serious, I'll try to find you a copy.
150 yr old fax machine how??
Picking up space junk, sigh, makes me think of Captain Jack Harkness *swoon*
Turkish Delight, the way you said that sounded naughty, is it a reference to the candy that is too much of a lure for one of the kids in The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe?

before I die, well i will let fate carve a path for me

Celebrate my 100th birthday. ;)
Actually, I'm not really sure if this would quite fit in to the theme of this thread but what I really look forward to and hope to make a reality one day is to have my own lil' family. ^^; I'll spare you the sappiness, so ..
yeah.

Are you going to marry a chibi girl? And have a chibi family, and live chibi ever after?
Sorry, your posts make me smile.
@ Rem. Honey, I am not going on any pre-programmed tours. I'd like to know where to go, and maybe have one of those things you listen to about what you are seeing, maybe, probably not, but I am thinking more of going for a walk, and letting myself get lost. I find more interesting things that way it seems. Plus I don't have to be on anyone else's time table. I'll leave Iraq when I am darn good and ready. lol

Yus. n_n

I want to graduate and have a family. :D
And turn 18.... RIGHT NAO.

I would love to understand what this means and to look at its relation to the comparable concepts ...
I wouldn't mind discussing it in person or in a round table group with other interested folks, and it might also be cool to start a new 'comparative religions / cosmologies' thread in Off-Topic & Chat where if side topics pop up we can move them there.
OK, what ELSE I wouldn't mind doing is:
- Walking up the summit of Mt Hood.
- Hit all 5 of the Bordeaux 1855 appellations. (I've had Chateaux Margeaux and Lafite so far, now I have to hit Chateau Letour, Haut Brion, and Mouton Rothschild.)
The most AMAZING story of 'doing something before you die' HAS to be one of the Allied POWs who was held in Colditz Castle in Germany, where the prisoners had built an ESCAPE GLIDER in the attic. They were liberated by the Allies before anyone got a chance to FLY it.

OK here's the AMAZING part:

10 years ago some of the prison camp survivors built a duplicate according to their original plans they drew up while captives.
At ages 83 ~ 87 they flew the duplicate. Can you imagine living 50 years with those memories and unanswered questions, and then getting a chance to try and see, before you die? Can you just imagine what that could have meant to these survivors?

@ Jay, ok, @ Prinz, good idea, & OMG THAT IS THE COOLEST FOLLOW-UP EVER. Thank you.
