So for my cosplay, I'm going to be Plusle. I really want some soft pink contacts, I think it will be cute. Does anyone have ANY Information on colour contacts, this will be really awesome.
Thanks :3
-
Handy FAQ on contacts from Cosplay.com. (http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=177713")
And a direct link to the list located in said FAQ. (http://stealthos.com/specificlenses.html")
Just expand the pink contact section. Hope it helps~
EDIT: Sorry. D: Links fixed now~ /was sick
-
It does Thanks :3
-
I think we should keep this thread up, because a lot of us forum peeps are keeping with the idea of contacts.
I'm getting blue ones for Sora/Roxas, and pink ones for Botan and Ichigo.
-
@Shi- I don't know about anyone else but the links are broken for me. You may want to fix that.
@Soundy- What color are your eyes? I recently bought some contacts from http://www.pinkyparadise.com/ (http://www.pinkyparadise.com/). I hate the ring of color it leaves around around your pupil since it looks really ugly and fake. I ended up getting these and they looked really nice on my blue eyes. Gave me the color boost that I wanted. http://www.pinkyparadise.com/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=98 (http://www.pinkyparadise.com/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=98). If you don't like those that site has a lot of other fairly cheap options.
As for contact questions I have one. I'm trying to find the most natural red contacts I can. I don't really like the ones that are one solid color because the look extremely unnatural. Can anyone help me out?
-
I happen to be one of those blind people that has worn contacts for years...so maybe I can help a bit here. It's been a while since I have ordered custom color lenses but I know that they are expensive if you want nice ones. If I remember right, I ordered my red lenses from fxlenses which has changed to FX Eyes (http://www.fxeyes.com/fxstore/shop/category.aspx?catid=2). It looks like they still have a variety to choose from that might work for what you are looking for. If you browse other parts of the website, they have all kinds of color types to choose from.
-
@ Nikki:
My eyes are am almost black brown.
And maybe try looking for a rust-red, as opposed to a bright red? Maybe even look in browns :/
-
Then the ones I posted are not a good idea since they like, dissolve into your eye color XD And I will try looking into though :> The ones you posted Cyprus are....way out of my price range.

I figured they might be...I know for a fact they are great quality though so I thought I would post. Since I'm a blind person, I really don't think about the price too much since I have to buy contacts so regularly anyway lol.
-
If you want red ones that don't leave a ring around the pupil, they make contacts for soccer players that make your irises red, but because the colour goes over the pupil they'll also make everything look yellowish when you wear them. (they're supposed to make the ball easier to see or something.) I don't know if they'd work for darker eyes, though. My friend was wearing them and they looked really cool, so if you don't mind seeing everything in yellow for the day... I know I'm going to look for them.
-
I need to get some red ones and some purple ones as well. Though I know from doing research not many of the purple ones are going to "pop out" very well because of my eye color <.<
-
I agree with sound. I found a website and i'm curious if anyone has bought any from there or knows anything before i buy. http://www.youknowit.com they have awesome contacts,

That is a good website from what I can tell...unless of course you need a prescription lens, which they do not offer :-X

Exactly! ... or be blind for a while. I'm sure people would understand
-
Haha lol...well that wouldn't work for me since I not only don't have glasses...but I am SUPER blind without some kind of vision correction. Oh how I dream of 20/20 vision :'(

20/20 vision would be nice :(

How about 20/16?
*has 20/16, the highest vision possible to have*

My dear Rebel...when you are as blind as I am & have been that way for as long as I have...ANYTHING is better lol. 20/16 would be bad considering I would probably have a heart attack being able to see everything so clearly.
-
That would be bad D:
I don't want Chris keeling over and dying :'(

Here to share an awesome product! ^^ Since you're being a Pokemon, you wanna look cute right? =D You should consider CIRCLE LENSES!
Circle lenses are Korean contacts that make your eyes look bigger and doll-like if you will ^^ It depends on what size you get as in diameter of the lens...which is the whole color part xD They come in lots of the natural colors but I'm sure if you look hard enough, there are some un-natural colors too~ =D They also have different ring styles too (as in the designs in the color part of the lens). Look them up! ^^
As for myself, I love circle lenses ^^ It doesn't matter what color your eyes are too because those cover them right up =D Except circle lenses come in different styles so you might want to see some before and after pictures before you buy. I've seen some that cover the color of your eye and some that have your eye color showing out of the lense =.= Those are a no go if you want a full color coverage~
Here is my favorite site that sells natural and some un-natural colors. They are the only website that I found that sells the actual lenses in PAIRS instead of individually xD And here is an example of a full coverage lens. This is a Hyper Sized Grey (I have it xD) lens. Hyper sizes are a bit bigger than regular lenses btw:
http://www.koreabigeyes.com/Gray-Color/Hyper-size-Gray.html
Example of aa non-full coverage one:
http://www.koreabigeyes.com/Black-Color/Hyper-Circle-Black.html
See how you can still see her eye color even with the lens on? =D It does make a cool effect though if you like that ^^
Any questions? Please ask away haha ^^"

Panda! they are AMAZING! I'll really look into them.
:3
Thank you for posting this!!
-
Grrr. I'm not allowed to wear colored contacts for cosplay.
My dad's always like: "You only have one pair of eyes, use them well."
And I'm like: "o A o. Daaaaaaddddyyyyy pleeeeaaaasssseee??"
And he's like: "NO."
Unnngggh. = A =
He comes to Kumoricon with me and totally ruins my style, I told him to at least cosplay as Heero Yuui if he was going to tag along. xD
-
Contacts won't ruin your eyes unless they are the wrong prescription or they are really old or dirty. That sucks he won't let you wear theatrical lenses :(

Actually, they can very well mess up your vision even then. Some people can't wear contacts at all, which is why anyone who wants to wear contacts should get an eye exam
-
Hmmm...well you have a good point, although it's one I never honestly gave any thought. I have been wearing contacts for 12+ years so it is different for me I guess. Ya, get the eye exam to be safe :P
-
I shall do that then!
Eye exam it is~
-
Sucky part is that a contact eye exam runs around $80-$100(I pay $79 at Sears Optical) depending on where you go...for me that doesn't matter since I get one once a year because I'm a blind person...but for those that aren't in need of vision correction, it is a lot to spend for just that. But on the other hand, non-prescription lenses are not only cheaper by a landslide, but there are so many more to choose from. When you need a prescription lens, they run you at least $150 a pair if your lucky.

Hey y'all, the woman at the contact booth at Sakura-con was awesome, and she showed us some contacts, and they REALLY show up on my eye color (for those of you that missed it my eyes are DARK (http://poison-spider-bite.deviantart.com/art/Best-Friend-Eye-154061107) (thank you Shelby for taking pictures of my eye))
Does anyone know their website?
-
I think there was a little flyer type thing with your bag of fluff...otherwise, you can check the registered exibitors on the sakura-con website & then google it.
-
I have found said flyer, and yes it was in my bag of fuzz!

Not going to happen >.e

I actually just bought my first pair of contacts....is there anything special I should do to them when they get here.....? I heard soak them in water but.....n.n;;
-
I have some questions on contacts!
How bad do they hurt? ;o;
-
^^ Saline solution :P
-
You all seem really trustworthy, so I have a question, haha.
Where can a girl with astigmatisms and in need of perscription lenses find yellow contacts? I can only find brown lenses that are honey colored. ): I also would like to pay only like, $65 dollars at most, but if need be, I might be able to pay more. Thanks!

As a regular contacts user, I can asure you that after having them in for a little while (around 30 minutes if you've never tried them before) they aren't uncomfortable. You pretty much forget they're there.
When you first put them in, have a bottle of eye drops at the ready. Then just let your eyes tear up a little (don't wear make up at this point). If the lenes are thick it will fell like there is something on your eye and feel stange when you blink, but it doesn't last.
Though, when you first get them on, the next few minutes won't feel good or natural, but it fades. So, if you can pull through the first 30 minutes or a little less, then there shouldn't be a problem. ^_^
