North West Chibi Anime is hosting an Anime Event in Tacoma, Washington called Otaku Fest North West on October 8th, 2005

We also invite other events to come.

Cosplayers are welcome to show off their skills, and hang out.

Hehe, you look so glamorous holding that diet coke. If we have anything for K'06, then I'll make sure we're there!
-
Please do, if there is any convention or anime related group or function that would like a free advertising table, email me so I can set aside some room. That photo was taken in New Orleans at JapanFest this summer. 97 degrees outside, thank goodness for air conditioning. It was my mock photo stylized like the coke ads that ran in the United States during 1948 with random Asian women advertising for the Coke company
-
Any comments or suggestions are very welcome. Hmmm, Otaku Speed Dating?
-
Ramen Bowl Fire Attack!
-
Oh, are we battling? You are taking on a martial arts Asian chick, are you ready?
-
will you have an artists alley for the event?
-
Tha's a very good question, since the Anime event is in a format that has limited space for the hall that the event will be in, there will be no formal artist alley for selling of merchandise without having a dealers table, but you are more than welcome to show your creations with others with contact information in a section reserved for artists and crafters. Pm me for any other questions

This looks like something worth checking out. The City of Destiny needs more anime events. 8)
-
These Anime Events are meant to suppliment the Anime convention circuit. These events are meant to be condensed versions of what would happen at full scale convention structure. We hope to see many of the congoers of Kumoricon 2005 to show in the sister state of Washington for this upcoming event and the many to come. :D
-
Mechacon 2005 will be happening August 26, 27, 28th of August, one weekend before Kumoricon. This is the first convention of it's kind. This is a Transformers friendly Anime convention. The guest are Tiffany Grant for Evangelion as Asuka, Doug Smith from Golden boy, Alec Willows from Beast Wars, and more who just signed up to be guests at the first of it's kind convention in the middle of Louisiana in the town of Lafayette ( 2 hours out of New Orleans, crawfish anyone ) Check them out at www.mechacon.com for more information and forums. Mechacon and North West Chibi Anime hosts events in the sister state of Washington, come check us out coast to coast for an event near you.
-
Why am I all of a sudden thinking "Gumbo Ramen"?
-
I think that's the best thing about Ramen, it can be mixed with anything. I prefer chicken mushroom with a egg and green onions, but to each his/her own.
-
We have more confirmed dealers! If you're group is interested in space, send me an email. :D
-
As for everyone else...don't spend all your money at one table.
-
Sounds kewl. :)
-
Hope to see everyone there, stop by my table at Kumoricon in the dealers room. :D
-

You and your con barely dodged a bullet (more like an artillery shelling, it seems). :?
But hey...good to hear you're okay, the con rocked, and we hope to see at Kumoricon. 8)
(It looks like Lafayette Regional Airport's open and all right; we'll be seeing ya.)
-
I flew in this morning from Louisiana!!!!!!!!! I'm swear I'm coming!
-
I had a great time at Kumoricon, and a special thanks to the crew from Sakuracon and Kumoricon to cheer me up after the aftermath that was Louisiana. You guys rock. I hope that everyone has plenty of photos to share :D
-
I'm glad you had a good time at the con, and yes i will be up in october for the one day con.
-
Many of the convention attendees of Mechacon lost everything since they came in from New Orleans for the show. I hope that they will all be ok. Please send whatever help, or prayer to the people that now have to start thier lives over. Part of the door fee will go to helping those in need.
-
will you be taking donation or a chairty auction in addition to send additional funds?
-
Anything will help all the people flooding into the town of Lafayette. I will send whatever is given or raised for the cause.
:?
-
Any suggestions on games?

you know i tried to find it but i got seriously lost on 72nd... i'd been there before and everything... i swear the was some sort of time paradox going on or something
-
It's alright, and I wanted to thank everyone who made it out. We had a great time and the after party at Denny's was a good time. Thanks for the support, see you next time :D
-
Thanks for putting on the event. It was a lot of fun!
It's nice having this type of event between conventions to keep up anime excitement throughout the year. The smaller feel gives a chance to meet people on a more personal level and chat with people I've seen before at cons and make new friends.
Despite the small size, the variety of events and elements like video games, dealers, anime music, and wallscroll decorations gave it a convention feel and there was plenty to do.
Hope to see you all again soon. To those I talked with, feel free to contact me by IM/email or whatever (see my profile). (I was the one wandering around and constantly hanging around the CD player and joining in people's conversations about con stuff, had a green shirt.)
-
I'm glad you had a great time. :)
