Title: Vampire Knight '10 {Posting Pictures}

Well, as you can tell, I'm obviously going to be cosplaying as Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight, and my sister will be Yuki Cross (I just hope it won't get too... awkward...). I haven't seen a topic about any Vampire Knight cosplayers and well... it would be nice to know who all you guys would be going as/are thinking of going as. :3

I'd also like a few opinions. I'm wondering if I should get red contact lenses (well, I'm going to have to get them anyways) and wear them as I cosplay or should I just stick with brown eyes? Also, what would be the best material to use to make the uniforms out of? I'm sorry for the noob-ish question, but this will be my first time making a costume. >.<

Heyyy, why didn't I notice this thread before? :3

Personally, I'm getting red contact lenses for Yuki, but that's because I'm doing her Vampire version. (oh hay, spoiler alert!) My Zero is getting purple ones. ^^

I think twill would be good for the uniforms.

I'll probably end up going with red contact lenses. They make your eyes look cool. XD *shot*

^^ Joane's have a good selection.
I suggest going to one near you, their is also fabric depot if you have one of those near you.
D: but they are more expensive.

But I'm going to kill out a whole chunk of my cash with all of the wigs I'm buying. DX I'm just glad that they're all short (and thus cheaper)... but I'll definitely check out both stores to see which has a better selection.

Have you both already finished your cosplays (besides the contacts) yet?

the best suggestion I recomend is getting Bias tape, its an any joanes they even had it at walmart.
get that, you can sew it on or even hot glue it.

XD I've seen things where it gets stuck together in the washer and then comes off and then gets lint balls all over from it.
so, yea, don't use the fabric paint.

I'm really glad that I asked about it before doing anything. >.< Egads, it would have made me heartbroken if I put in all of the time and work only to have that happen. I'm getting my wig from Periwig because they're good quality and inexpensive, I just hope it won't be too dark. D:

I'm gonna use fabric glue to glue on the bias tape. ^^

XD only little things are good for fabric paint, large lines that go all over your fabric, not so much. ^^ Its okay just keep it in mind,your welcome.

Bias tape is really good to use for the uniform!
I also have paint on mine for the tip things that fits fine and hasn't caused any problems, but bias tape is the way to go.

I have a reference sheet of the uniforms, and it looks like the tip things are made of metal as opposed to being painted on.

So, update time~
I got the fabric for the uniforms (like, a long time ago... yay black Friday sales? XD). I should... go and find good reference pictures now. Also, my Kaname wig shall be arriving on Friday... errr... tomorrow! :D I'm so excited for it to come~

How is everyone else doing with their cosplay? :3

last year I went as Zero(failed at it) so if I go again this year(possibility) I'll go as Zero and I'm going to see if I can get a Ruka costume or something... I'm gonna grow my hair out and dye it blonde...maybe.... I need a new Zero wig! >.< I managed to find a way to get rid of the bump in the back from my hair but the wig is waaay to thin and strands are falling out by the dozens! I also need a wig cap :P
If I don't go this year I most deffinatly will go next year :) and I'm gonna stick around on the forums for a little while.

Not sure I will be able to make K-con in 2010 (still hopeful) but I will be cosplaying Shiki Senri at Sakura-con this year. I will be in the saturday main cosplay chess game in that cosplay.

I do hope I can make Kumori, I had a blast.

Yeah, Got hooked on VK and thought Cosplaying one of the supporting characters would be fun, that and i've never cosplayed an auburn/red head.

Ah, I actually got a pattern for Yuki as well (mostly the top part, but skirts are easy to do, right?). Granted, I actually don't have it with me at the moment (as I left it at a friend's house), but I could get back to you on that (it would probably be in a few weeks though >.>) if you would like. :3

I got it from ebay, actually.
I have bought a wig from the seller wig fever for a cosplay for kumo 09 and it was marvelous so ^^ I got it from their and it was very good quality, I'm Extremely happy with it.

I buy all my wigs pretty much Exclusively from ebay, because I don't trust many stores that aren't. its kinda of weird, but true, on Ebay, I can look at positive and negitive feedback, as well as look at their percent of sales, its very useful, and if you look you can find some really good deals.
<3 so, I definitely think its worth the looking, and shopping around.

On another note, I think I've finished styling my Kaname wig? :/ Not too sure how I feel about it, but I loved how the picture turned out~ It was a complete mistake too. XD

I might have enough money for tickets, just need to get my grandmother to tailor the day class uniform then I can focus on getting a new ichiru wig... I absolutely destroyed my other one >.>.... BUT! I finally took care of the seeing the hair in the back problem (I cut my hair so I now need a cap) :D yay for not having to retire Ichiru! Tis fun running around as Zero in disguise XD And fangirls randomly hug you at subway! I love Con's so much :'D

monday looks pretty open o3o it is the last day and all, but it worked pretty well last year :/ and we went to the park blocks closest to the hotel. :) there is an old building that says "no trespassing" but it's prefect for vampire knight

But yeah, what time would be fine? It seems like a lot of people already claimed 10, and cosplay chess is at 12, right? So... somewhere in between those times might be good...? I'm not too sure... And the park blocks closest to the hotel would... be in the south? >.< -is terrible with directions/locations-

Since I recently found out that I will be at Kumori I'll be wearing my Shiki VK cosplay at con. Not sure which days but probably for the cosplay chess game which I've applied to be in.

Zero was actually my first choice as I love his hair colour and character. Then by random chance came across the auburn wig I now have and it just shouted Do Shiki! so bought it.
I still may do Zero at some point but already do several characters with white/silver hair (points at avitar)
Then again, you can never have enough wigs for cosplays ne?

Yes, there will be a VK photoshoot, on Monday at... the time was 1:00 pm if I remember correctly? We will all meet in the Hilton's Lobby and then move to go to the photoshoot.

However, I'm not all too sure if I myself will be cosplaying as Kaname. D: I haven't gotten his uniform done, nor my Yuuki's sooo... we might kinda go casual? I'll try and figure out what to do. D;
But if I don't end up doing a VK cosplay, I'll still come along and help to take pictures~ 8D
