It's really early to start something like this, but I thought it would be better to do it before Sakuracon this year. Last year we had a handful of people who thought that the con staff were the ones who scheduled each photoshoot, it's not of course, that's your job! I'm just here to help sort things out and make the times and days you guys agree on easier to find.

No actual times, but me and my group of friends are pushing for KHII later on Saturday, an Invader Zim shoot on Sunday, and a Gundam Wing one on Monday. ^^

I am not able to afford sakura con, as sad as it makes me, I am a poor college student -_- However I am going to K-con 08 as Bankai ichigo and I Know of someone who is trying to put together a Yachiru costume... I noticed an entire mob of bleachers last con, and I am going to have my Reno cosplay as well, though I belive one could put together a reno photo shoot by itself for that matter, based of last cons appearances ><
SOOO... Yeah, Time nows to sweepify the net and boards and sakura con for cosplayers I suppose, lol.

This is the first time I might be attending Kumoricon this year, but if it's possible, I'd love to see a Yuugiou Photoshoot. I can ask around on some of the sites I run (especially on livejournal) if any of the members are attending and are possibly cosplaying, but if enough people show up to cosplay as Yuugiou characters, can we do a photoshoot?
(I'm still a n00b to this whole thing, since this is only my fourth con that I've been to, and most of the photoshoots I've been in were kinda thrown together at the last moment.)
And for further clarification, I've seen the shoots containing both original YGO characters and YGO:GX characters, so I have no qualms with combining the two in needed.
Plus, any further advice would be helpful! Thanks!

We've got a bunch of naruto cosplayers as far as i can tell and i think that sunday would prolly be the best day for the naruto photoshoot IMO.

If photographers are needed for the shoots I'd be more then happy to assist! Currently I have a Canon EOS 40D SLR and am proficient in Adobe ps, also I can upload the shots to my deviant art gallery or even make a new one (on dA or anywhere else). Also if anyone would like their pictures sent to them, then I could email them the shots edited or not.
Also the lolitas should have a photo shoot! How would we go about organizing a loli / visual-kei shoot?

Nothing is set yet, I'm waiting for word from the cosplayers. I check the other threads in this section about once a week for time suggestions. So go talk to your fellow cosplayers about photoshoot times.

You can just keep an eye on this thread, I try and update the schedule when it changes. However if you want to try and help decide on when the photoshoots will be you can talk to the cosplayers in the other threads. This is meant to be a sort of consolidation thread.
I've added Naruto and DNAngel, Smash Bros. is pending a day/time now.
Remember everyone, we have no schedule for the con yet, but you can be sure that Opening ceremonies will be early Saturday, the Cosplay Contest will be later on Sunday, and closing ceremonies will be on Monday afternoon. The host club tea party is the only event that will have an official schedule.
ALL times listed above can be changed by the whim of the people.

The more photos the better, the staff are always looking for people to let the convention use their pictures in official galleries.

Looks like it's going to be either on Saturday or Sunday for the SSB photoshoot, near 4'o clock. Thinking of camera angles and the lighting/sun, I think it would be a good time. Also, the park provides lots of shade, so we won't have to worry about overheating much. ;3

I would like to schedule a photoshoot for general RPG characters. And those who are interested in the idea, we're gonna work on some in-character scenarios including battles between different characters.

Well seeming as it's not on the list I think We should have a pokemon photoshoot. I would prefer it was on the 2day. ^_^ Just cause that the day I and most other people are wearing their pokemon cosplay. The Last day would be fine too.

For those of you who are new to the forums, let me explain what I'm doing again.
The times and dates I write up on the first page are decided byt those groups of cosplayers. If you want a pokemon photoshoot, then talk it over with the other pokemon cosplayers!
Death note cosplayers get to decide when their photoshoot is going to be.
Etcetera.
That's why Ihave to go through the other cosplay threads to see how many people are actually agreeing on a specified time.

I think we should make it official for the MoHS photoshoot to be on Monday. I'll be in my Kyonko costume on that day, and many more Haruhi cosplayers will be suited up on Monday.
The time doesn't really matter at this point, but I think all of us MoHS can settle on that date :)

No. There is no guarantee. I will make sure that there is a big piece of paper with the first page of this thread printed on it. I will even explain it to my wife since she'll be the info booth moogle.
However, any of these can change. Traditionally about 5% of the photoshoots end up not happening and another 10% get rescheduled.
So there you go.
The groups that have tons of people and really want to get together are the ones that end up meeting up at the agreed upon time.
I'll fix the dates on the front page.

I'd suggest pushing for them all to show up at the Super Smash Brothers photoshoot to save time. Even if they're other Zelda characters or different versions, it'll be a convenient place.

Because they're hyper, some of them have two KH costumes, and some people can't make it to each.

hahah the smash bro's shoot will have alot of character's even outside of the game itself. haha other zelda characters and fire emblem characters..
if we do the shoot at 4 would that conflict with those who are in cosplay skit? don't they have to have a practice run like and hour prior?

I remember that. I was in the cosplay contest as Sakuracon and I barely got an hour to eat some food on Saturday. It was still a lot of fun. We got to watch the skits but there was no sound......that made me sad v.v

I don't have the schedule yet but Cosplay has Control of the Main Events hall for the entire day. There is a pre meet and a dry run and a costume judging. If you have never experienced these let me explain what they entail.
At the pre-meet everyone shows up so that the cosplay manager can tell them to sit and wait while they talk to the stage manager. Then the cosplay manager will go through the forms everyone has and make sure that all the people in the skit have signed or been listed on the form. That's when you stay at the end of the line and frantically call your friend who's still in the hotel room so you can tell him to get down here with your form. After you hand your form in you stand there waiting for confirmation that everything is alright while the cosplay manager talks to the stage manager, a yojimbo, and a costume judge (not necesarily in that order) while staring at your form. After she asks you to explain your handwriting in a couple of spots she says that you're approved.
But you might want to hang around if you need to do a dry run.
That's when you make a few more phone calls and try and get everyone in the skit together. You try explaining that it's for a dry run. They complain because you said that you could hand the form in yourself and they're at a panel. Once everyone gets to the room you go over your skit and argue about the 4th yaoi joke's punchline. You sit in silence for awhile watching the stage hands run around flipping switches and the volunteers move chairs. Then you ask the cosplay manager when you can do your dry run but a stage hand stops you because she's started the costume judging. After the second Zelda costume is judged she tells you that the run throughs on the stage are done later because the tech people need the stage for doing lighting set up and you'll have to come back later in the day. She may tell you a time.
At this point there are two things that could happen. You could make your fellow cosplayers bitter by sticking around and maybe getting to parctice the skit on stage with your pre-recorded sound file and lighting so it actually syncs up on the third try, but missing about 1/5 of the con.
OR
You can leave and never see your fellow cosplayers until about five minutes before the cosplay contest begins. Half way through seating. and ten minutes AFTER the performers were supposed to be seated in the green room for the cosplay staff to do role call. I don't have the schedule yet but Cosplay has Control of the Main Events hall for the entire day. There is a pre meet and a dry run and a costume judging. If you have never experienced these let me explain what they entail.
At the pre-meet everyone shows up so that the cosplay manager can tell them to sit and wait while they talk to the stage manager. Then the cosplay manager will go through the forms everyone has and make sure that all the people in the skit have signed or been listed on the form. That's when you stay at the end of the line and frantically call your friend who's still in the hotel room so you can tell him to get down here with your form. After you hand your form in you stand there waiting for confirmation that everything is alright while the cosplay manager talks to the stage manager, a yojimbo, and a costume judge (not necesarily in that order) while staring at your form. After she asks you to explain your handwriting in a couple of spots she says that you're approved.
But you might want to hang around if you need to do a dry run.
That's when you make a few more phone calls and try and get everyone in the skit together. You try explaining that it's for a dry run. They complain because you said that you could hand the form in yourself and they're at a panel. Once everyone gets to the room you go over your skit and argue about the 4th yaoi joke's punchline. You sit in silence for awhile watching the stage hands run around flipping switches and the volunteers move chairs. Then you ask the cosplay manager when you can do your dry run but a stage hand stops you because she's started the costume judging. After the second Zelda costume is judged she tells you that the run throughs on the stage are done later because the tech people need the stage for doing lighting set up and you'll have to come back later in the day. She may tell you a time.
At this point there are two things that could happen. You could make your fellow cosplayers bitter by sticking around and maybe getting to parctice the skit on stage with your pre-recorded sound file and lighting so it actually syncs up on the third try, but missing about 1/5 of the con.
OR
You can leave and never see your fellow cosplayers until about five minutes before the cosplay contest begins. Half way through seating. and ten minutes AFTER the performers were supposed to be seated in the green room for the cosplay staff to do role call. It's really early to start something like this, but I thought it would be better to do it before Sakuracon this year. Last year we had a handful of people who thought that the con staff were the ones who scheduled each photoshoot, it's not of course, that's your job! I'm just here to help sort things out and make the times and days you guys agree on easier to find.
So I'm going to sticky this thread with mod magic and I'll update this first post with any schedule that is created. So far all I know is that cosplay chess is slated for MONDAY MORNING and there's going to be some sort of dance event Sunday Night. Cosplay will be on Sunday.
Everyone pay attention at Sakuracon this year to see how many people are at what event and which cosplay groups we should write down on the list!

People still seem to not understand how this works.
You create a thread for your anime, like....oh.... BLEACH or DEATH NOTE.
Then all the people that are cosplaying characters from that show chime in and talk about their costumes and how many friends they have that are cosplaying the same show, but are too lame to post on the forums.
Then all the people that are getting along and are fans of the show and actually WANT to have a photoshoot begin talking about times and dates.
About three people take a stand while everyone else complains about the lack of schedule.
The most responsible person in the thread posts here about the agreed on time and day, OR I find it myself during one of my regular check ups on this part of the forum.
I write down that time and date in my thread for everyone who wasn't paying attention.
Understand? Good!
Now lets start making the hard decisions people, none of you can go to EVERYTHING so start deciding what you're willing to miss out on for the friendship and memories of a cosplay photoshoot.
I haven't taken part in one since the Final Fantasy photoshoot of 2004 and that was one of the good memories from that crazy con.

Well, the big thing Sunday is the cosplay contest, if you aren't in it then you just have to deal with the seating before 5pm. Unless you aren't going at all. :o

The park has tons of space and we could probably do all the cosplay photo shoots there at the same time if it wasn't rainy.
There really isn't anywhere in the conspace itself that has room for a big group of people to gather so the park is the best. Though I suppose if you were willing to trek you could go over and fill up the entrance of the Pirate store. It has some scenery, as seen here.

This pretty much is the official schedule because the photo shoots are scheduled by the participants and not necessarily staff. Just checking this thread before you leave for con or at the con even is the best way to make sure you are up-to-date on your shoots.

Well, it's open, but once someone has come in here and reported the time that the consensus has agreed on, there's not a great chance of it being changed. Sooo, it's kinda open? I dunno, lol.

Yeah, the convention has enough stuff going on right now so they don't schedule any photoshoot for an official time. The week of the convention I will print out a copy of this schedule and give it to my wife for posting at the info booth.
Hopefully each day we can have a big printout showcasing the photoshoots scheduled.
Remember, if you want a photoshoot to exist, you should make it happen. Every single one* of these times was discussed and agreed upon in another thread on the forum. It is your duty as cosplayers and photographers to negotiate the times that work best for everyone.
Especially now that the SCHEDULE has been posted!

No, I unfortunately rushed through reading most of that. But what you're saying is that for a photoshoot to happen, is that all cosplayers and photographers must agree on both a time, place, and day, right?

Yeah.
We just need a majority of people to agree on something. Then I'll add it to the list.
This is not something that the staff organize, it's all done by the cosplayers.

I want to let everyone know that you can not wear handcuffs, or any time of thing that connects you with another person. It is too dangerous. The only time that it is ok is for a picture, then you have to take them off.

Hi there. So I was wondering about a time for a photo shoot with hellsing. I saw it was sunday ^^ but no time. I think 3 or 4 would be nice I just wanted to put out an opinion because it has been undesited for a while now. and i'm not sure were it is. Can some one help me?

The soul Eater shoot is at 1pm Sunday,
And the big weapon shoot is 12pm also Sunday
Both will be in the park

I'd like to slightly change the schedule for the general RPG character shoot. I'd like to schedule it for 12:35 Sunday in the park. I have a panel that ends at 12:30.

I think all (or almost all) of the photoshoots will be in the park between the Double Tree and Lloyd Center. I think it is just assumed that they will all be held there for it's convenience and open space.

Maybe Try to throw together a small Silent Hill Group on Sunday around darkish, like before sunset or something at the park.

So far I know my group only has Two nurses and a Parasitic doctor. Our P.H. Could not come.
I was thinking Sunday since I'm trying to Push in Mewtwo for the first day.
But as long as something goes together everything should be fine right?

Sailor MOoon shoot when? Any excel Saga shoots planned?...abnd when is the rumiko takahashi shoot planned? I am going to try to bust out as many costumes as I can this year- but I have to work 2 nights out of the convetion. :-(

As for Sailor Moon, there isn't a shoot planned. :( I tried to organize one, but there didn't seem to be enough interest this year.

I know this may be a little late, but we're planning on doing a Gintama photoshoot at 2:00PM on Sunday at the park.
It'd be great if TomtheFanboy could add Gintama to the schedule list.
It looks like this'll be during the Final Fantasy and Baccano photoshoots...but nonetheless, I hope you guys can stop by!
