I LOVE holiday shopping, and finding the right gift for the people in my life and for the best prices possible.
money is pretty tight and I look for any way I can stretch a buck.
This means I partake of the black friday deals
Freddys with their half off socks and 20% off video games and doughnuts
world cost plus and free ordement.
amazon and target had a recent buy 2 get one free on video games
taking advantage of gift card deals like buy 50 get 10 extra. they do this one a lot at restaraunts, buy a 25$ gift card and get 5$ one good for later. I have bought a gift card before eatting there then used it to pay for my meal and geting the 5 for later.
So yes I am a buget penny pinching shopper and proud of it,
I will say I don't wait in the big lines I just wait for the store to open and let it pass. I also and very polite and curtious to my fellow shoppers.

Well, it's nice to see that you enjoy it. I personally don't even consider holiday shopping until after my birthday, which is December 5. I forgot; I do make exceptions to this rule when Hanukkah begins before that day, such as the case this year.

G/F & I always start our holiday shopping shortly after Haloween...sometimes we even pick things up here & there during our travels in the summer. As it stands, we are going holiday shopping today after work. I don't go to any stores on Black Friday though...I know the deals are great, but there is nothing I hate more than an over-crowded store full of crazy people. A mosh pit at a Slayer concert sounds like a better time than that lol.

I don't deal with Xmas shopping, but I have the zeal you are showing here, for the back-to-school specials over the summer, such as folders for 5 cents.

I am hopping to snag couple of dvds on day after thanksgiving sale. They always have a bunch really cheap its just whether or not its the ones you want. Blue rays too. I do take my Hubby and little bro as 'protection' and spare arms. So far I have saved like 100 bucks compared to retail prices. Me and chris' anniversary is right after christmas, so buying his present early catching the sales help for that too. wait I started getting something for that and saved another 20$. Tho believe me if this stuff wasn't on sale I wouldn't be buying

It began last night...the holiday shopping starts & our spare room is beginning to get cluttered with bags of gifts that need wrapped. At some point I'm sure we will make a day trip up to Portland to do some shopping in the malls. We always try to if the weather is nice because we don't have much here for options unless we order everything online lol.

It is indeed fun lol. Anymore though, I tend to just fight for front row rather than bounce around in the mosh pit like I used to do.

I have 3 presents all wrapped up with bows on them just waiting for our christmas tree to be gotten out of storage
Besides presents for shopping I really want to get some new towels, last year they had em for 1.5 I really hope they go on sale again. tho I really would like it if they came out with some nice batman towels to make our guest bathroom a batman bathroom

I need to get my tree out of the garage & put it up. I like having it up...& yes, I put it up early & usually don't take it down until it's done being stupidly cold out. Deal with it! :P Which reminds me...need to start planning a Christmas meetup with HDC.

We are getting our tree out sunday. its pretty small like waist high but we put it on a tub to be off the ground it suits apartment size. picked up a couple of things at hot topic on sale double clearance is my friend!

We used to use a little 1.5 ft tall tree but last year we finally found a tree that we absolutely loved so we upgraded to a ~7 ft tree. It's such a pretty tree too! Got all bills for the month taken care of so the G/F & I are gonna head out again for more holiday shopping throughout the week. Gonna start wandering through the little shops downtown Bend & Redmond to see what kind of neat little treasures hide within.

I get to do most of my holiday shopping during the post-Christmas sales. It's so relaxed and disorganized. I love it.

If Jess & I don't travel to Washington this week(which is looking like we won't with as much as it is snowing on the pass), we are going to be in Bend on Black Friday. We usually don't bother with it but there is something that her parents need that we will save 50% on that morning so we are gonna go for it lol.

I work a 13 on wednesday and a 11 hour thanksgiving. Would have been a 13 but my Hubby wants me to get some sleep before shopping craze.

Same, I'm fairly new and they want me to be the one doing most of the ringing just because I'm apparently good with people/over achieve. I'm only good with people when they're nice to me, I actually have a short temper and don't handle rude people well (which will be quite a few people that day I'm sure.)

Luckily in my line of work...holidays are the only days I am almost guaranteed to have off because they have to pay me between $32-$40/hr to be there on those days.

Got Cabella's Dangerous Hunts 11 for Wii for my step-dad as a gag gift ($59.99) and got Halo: Reach for $5. ;D
I can't play it until Christmas but whatever.
My mom says I make it hard to shop when I pick out my gifts but I'M the one who works there and gets a discount so I kinda have to be there when she pays so I can scan my card... Plus, I'm the one with the Rewards card that gets me money back... So yeah. XP

Black Friday here is great, because everyone just goes to Wal-Mart so the other stores are mostly untouched.

I shopped online at amazon and threadless, then hit up Old Navy at midnight while my bf and his cousin went to Gamestop. Then, at 3:30, we went to Target. It was a silly night but I'm basically done. Woo ^^

FFFFFFFF.... So all of my plans for my mom have gone up in smoke.
One of my mom's all time favorite movies is 'White Christmas' so as a surprise I was going to buy her tickets to see the play downtown.... only problem is the show has been cancelled because of financial problems with the theatre.
I then found out last night that Broadway Across America was bringing the musical 'Billy Elliot' to the Paramount in March. This is something my mom has said in passing would be a dream for her to see. Sadly it turns out the only tickets that are under $100 a pop are up in the third level balcony with little to no view.
I'm so discouraged right now, Christmas shopping for people is something that I normally look forward to immensely, but this year I just feel like I'm falling short. =/
That being said I am making a mock Hogwarts entrance letter and wood-crafting a custom wand for my best friend who is leaving for college after break... IT'S MY SECRET PROJECT. So I guess I still have some good ideas.

I am completely finished with all of my holiday shopping now with the exception of a gift for my mom...pretty sure we will be ordering her a Kindle tonight though. Just have a few little stocking stuffer things to grab as well, which will be easily done. Now I just need to wrap everything o.O.

So it turns out the venue for the Portland stop of Billy Elliot is significantly cheaper than what was being offered for the Seattle stop....
This might just work out after all.

I really just want to go finish the rest of my Holiday shopping (it's quite possibly my favorite thing to do EVER) but that likely won't happen until later next week since my friend wants me to hit the Tacoma mall with him to finish up our Christmas lists....
I'm so ready to be done with finals, I just want to be lazy and enjoy my Holiday time already! I did get the living room fully decorated and the little leg lamp up though so that counts for something... =]

We get to cheat a little: for us, Christmas CONTINUES UNTIL IT ENDS on Epiphany - January 6th - the 12th day when the kings finally MADE IT to Nazareth, etc.
So a few centuries ago, Christmas Day itself for kiddies was pretty much a trip to church - then you had to WAIT for the Kings to come 'cause THEY'VE GOT THE GOODIES, right?
Some cultures still do a smaller 'something' on January 6th, such as a cake with a bean in it and whoever gets the bean gets the randomizer gift for the evening, or gets to be 'king for the day' at a party.
But we sometimes exchange a final Christmas time gift on the 6th - and you get to SHOP for it on like January 2nd through 5th. All the crowds are glum and bent on EXCHANGING stuff and you get to (a) be quietly happy inside, and (b) NAIL some January inventory sales!

Ordered from a company in L.A. through Amazon & go figure, they send me the wrong item. The company was really nice about exchanging it, but I still had to pay to ship it back to them. Oh well...mistakes happen I guess.

I hate it when that happens, i am e mailing customer service about my order cuz they were suppose to give me 15% after it shipped, haven't heard back , I will have satisfaction!

Now I have another company that only sent me 1/2 my order but shows the order as complete...so I am having to file an Amazon AtoZ claim to get my refund. Is it so hard to just do your job right? Ugh...last time I ever order from that seller lol.

My mom's birthday gift came the other day and it made her cry when I gave it to her. (It was an ornament that was all sold out in the area and she thought she wouldn't be able to get but I ordered it off ebay for her.)

I have ordered TONS of stuff online over the years & have only had a few issues. As long as you make sure you are ordering from a safe/secure/real company, you shouldn't see any problems. Amazon is your friend! :D

Good news...the company that I was going to file a claim on just shipped the missing part of my order. Would have been nice of them to actually e-mail me back but seeing as Amazon took care of things & it's on the way, I am happy.

Psych is tv show on usa, where a guy Sean is using regular deduction and photo graphic memory to act like he is pychic and work with the police
his friend gus a pharmasuticals sales man helps. There are a lot of nerdish pop culture refernces in the show, a lot of my coworkers dont know them and dont understand. They also have awesome guests like half of tears for fears, cast of twin peaks and tim curry playing a simon powell character.

found a phone number to talk to a real like person! She told me I had to wait till the entire order has shipped, otherwise its really hard for them to calculate the discount. The last item is back ordered till december 20th so hopefuly I will get in time for christmas, tho its not a present, scott pilgram vs world blu ray.
Pain in neck but saves me cash.
Tho waita sec in the e-mail they sent me said that scott was suppose to ship on the 7th :P

after calling my e-mails have been answered, they took off 5.55 but my order was 44.99 and they were suppose to take off 15 % which would be
about 6.60, thats a 1.10 less, wtf? Am I messing up my math? A wait they didnt take it off shipping okay...

I gave Griff two of his gifts last weekend since I wanted him to have some before Christmas since I didn't know when I was going to get to see him after that at the time.
I got him a Gurren Lagann drill necklace and FF Four Heroes of Light for the DS.
I just got another one of his gifts in. It's an adorable Umbreon plush that is to die for~<3 And I'm still waiting on the Chocobo Plush I ordered for him.
