The biggest problem with winter is that I can't make it over the pass without considerable difficulty.
I live in Central Oregon, and I can't make it over the mountains if there is too much snow. There is a possibility of our car slipping and us dying, so none of the Central Oregon group would be attending.

This is sort of on-topic off-topic here, but does anyone else think we should have this in Portland? I mean, the park we usually go to doesn't have many indoor or covered areas in case of rain or cold or both.

The only reason that I say it should be outside is because we don't want to harass normal people~
I like the ones in the park, personally, but during winter it could be a problem. However, being inside would be difficult, as the point of the meet is to get photos of yaoi/yuri cosplay couples and not many places inside have beautiful locations and/or will let us be there for free.

Well i just looked up the websight for that....That place is kind of for younger kids whos parents probably don't want them seeing us takeing yaoi/yuri related pictures around them (and even if there are no little kids around, it's still probably not the best place for this picnic...)

I just forgot to mention this earlier, but about the choice whether to have it in Spring or Winter. We can have one in Winter and one in Spring...i mean, we've already had two Y/Y picnics this year (from what i've been to anyway), it wouldn't be much of a shocker to have another one in Spring. I think the last weekend of November or the first weekend of December would be good. It shouldn't be too cold by then.
Also, to add on to what other people have said: we WILL have another one in Spring. I will make sure of it.
And maybe we should start filling out a forum so we can figure who's with whom and if they're bringing something...
Or if anything, just say who're you're with and the cosplays of both.
And if you don't have a partner, state the cosplay(s) you can have done by then or want to do, and maybe you'll find someone.
Chibi, I know if you get your Ceil wig, Amanda would probably be Sebby with you.
And Arron, do you have a wig for Akito/Agito? If so, we could just do winter versions! It'd be so cute >w<

Then the next person who goes can either steal the gift, or grab a new one. If you gift is stolen, you can get another gift, or steal a gift that wasn't stolen before your's. And each gift can only be stolen 3 times.
It is so much FUN!!!

I hate doing secret santa that way...Someone's feelings always gets hurt one way or another.
I think it'd be better if we just did a secret present for our partner(s), or doing it the old fashioned way: getting a name and getting the present for them.
Of course, if we did the second idea, we'd have to have the list final by a certain date and then maybe just have extra gifts for late comers...

It's so fun!
Everyone who's playing stands in a circle with one person in the middle. The one in the middle chooses a person and goes up to them and says "Hunny, do you love me?" and the person they're saying it to has to say "Hunny, I love you but I just can't smile." all without smiling/laughing. If the person smiles, then they are the one now in the middle and choose a new person, if they didn't smile, then the person who asked the question is still in the middle and choose a new victim.
The best part of the game is to see how people say their line, b/c you want to make the person smile, so it can get pretty suggestive depending the group XD
And there's two ways to play it as well: Physical and verbal.
Physical is basicly, you're aloud to touch the person and there are different levels on how you can touch them, which usually depends the group/person.
Verbal is you're not aloud to touch the person in any way, and you just have to make them laugh with how you say the line and body/face movement. This is harder to get people to laugh.
This is just the perfect game for a yaoi/yuri fest XD
And especially if people try to do it in character, it makes for some interesting fun.

I mean, we're having another Y/Y picnic next spring...Hell, we could probably have another winter one in January or Febuary ^^ It's just a suggestion. I mean, I would have loved to go as Usagi to this, but i know i'm not going to get my wig/costume untill late December or sometime in January.
Also, conserning the date of this. I would just like people to know, as i said before, We're having another Y/Y picnic in Spring and i have no doubts that more people will show up to the one in Spring (because of the lack of coldness and Hollidays). So if people can't show up to this one, they will have another, warmer one to look forward too ^^

Wow! A lot of changes well I was out of state. Anyway, I agree with something like four-ish pages ago. Why not plan one for winter break and then one for Valentines day? I just say that cause a lot of people I've talked with REALLLY want another meet up this year. It could just be a photo-shoot/hang out instead of a really Y/Y picnic. Though it's cool if you guys don't agree but I just thought of throwing it out there. Personally I think snow and cosplay sounds like a blast but I'm a Naru so I don't count xD.

I tis have a plan! We meet up at Washington Park... have photoshoots and snacks then put snacks and heavy things in a car or two and then.... We all get on the MAX and/or if there are cars take cars to Llyod Center or Clackmas Town Center and break apart into small groups and do last minute Christmas shopping then meet back up in the food court and talk and have fun... Then take max or cars back to Washington Park to have people gert picked up and stuff

We've just had this meet up there so many times >.> I don't think we should change it just for that reason (i mean, it's not like we're intentionally trying to dis respect the dead. It's a park for crying out loud! Most parks i've been too (other than city parks with playgrounds) have some sort of memorial for someone/people who have lost their lives).
I hope i'm not sounding mean, but i've never seen hanging out at a park (a memorial park or not) as dis respectful.

I don't think that Monday, the 20th is the best choice since everyone has their sights set on the 18th, and that is when the most people can make it.

Any staff members of Kumoricon will not be able to go... We have a meeting and party at is mandatory for last years staff... So that is mr and then Kai and Aaron are going to the meeting to be cause they are going to on staff this year... So the head person will not even be there!

I'm having a similar problem with my meet. I might not be able to go to it, but I'm trying hard, and I have put a second in command up if I can't go, being Kristi, and Ashley.

Seems most of the people that asked for the day off, are staff and have to attend a meeting anyway.
Maybe if we can set this up again, we could all get into a MSN chat or something, that way no one is left out and the leader can help with the desisions. It seems a few people desided to take this into their own hands, which led to all of this heticness.

I have to totally agree with this,but there is a couple things I want to add in near future when people attempt to plan something. Make sure you actually have the time to make your scheduled meet-up,Yes there are those occasions where certain things happen to pop up,I just prefer to have people who are devoted to what they 'want' to do on the date stick with it,unless otherwise contact someone who is able to tell the individuals on here about little issues that arise.
To many bad runs-ins with people who don't comply what they seem to start >.< not attacking Aaron or anything,but I wouldn't want to step in and take lead of this knowing my weekends are busy in general and upcoming jobs and volunteering for me again..Hope this works out something in future for everyone,I would like to attend but I'm very unsure atm..
