Since this is about general discussion, I wanted to cheaply plug that I am selling my season 1 Saiyuki DVD's on eBay to earn funds for Sakuracon.

Definately my favorite anime to date. I love it so much, 2 of my 4 amvs are Saiyuki. *chuckles* *ahem* needless to say, I won't be making another amv for saiyuki for a while. ^.^;

well, I've been collecting the mangas as I've been able to get them. The rest of what I've collected it fairly small. I have 2 cell phone straps, the japanese 2005 calendar, a few pencilboards, and lots of digital pictures.
Other than the anime music videos, I've made some wallpapers and avatars.
What I really want is to get my hands on some of the more rare collectibles, like the bun steamer, tea set, the kouzen necklace, and a set of the UFO Plushies. The latter you can get off ebay, but I'm not in the mood to pay $50 for each one.

you got a lot a schtuff :shock: But that's pretty cool, I've got all 3 Salty dog artbooks those plastic action figures of goku, Sanzo, and Gojyo, a 2005 calender, about 10 or so pencil boards, a phone strap, and a band aid tin I THOUGHT was a cigarette case...-__-;

Warm, cold or hot? And for Saiyuki Sanzo, Goku, Hakkai, or Gojyo? Or do you prefer a different Saiyuki brand or perhaps a mix drink of one or two of them? :wink:

And me now that I think about it I could be changing my mind as well... to some other charater maybe a Gojyo as I had origanlly wanted though going as Kougaji would be great to... OH!! There is one girl I heard that she was going as Gojyo, though I haven't heard anything from her for a while... so who knows... :?

Hakkai is invincible to alcohol, so it wouldn't be very fair (and none of that taking-advantage of him either then.. how sad).

yes, i must admit i enjoy tea more than saki or any form of alcoholic beverage, espicially green tea. and it is fun watching others get drunk while your the only one with the sense of mind to take a picture! :wink:

back to original topic i already own all of saiyuki
I have all of Gensomaden, and am slowly collecting Reload as it comes out. Next one is out on my birthday, so I'm sure you can all guess what I'll be watching that day! ^.^
It's really, really sad not to hear those wonderful voices I know and love though. Have gotten to watching Reload in japanese, and I am enjoying the "true" voices of the characters too. I just can't get used to the Geneon dubs (so sorry Geneon voice actors - I know it's not your fault).
As far as cosplay goes, I have long dark golden-blond hair with a hint of red in it. Since it's much more blond than red, I could go as Kozen pretty easily. Only problem with that is my ... ahem... upper torso, which would stand out a bit too much and throw the whole Kozen thing off. I plan on cosplaying Robin Sena in her Harry's uniform instead, but still not 100% set on that either. Come to think of it, I could go as Gojyo (maybe) but he'd be top heavy too. It would be an interesting interpretation though. LOL!

If you want to make some quick hum bao, check your local Safeway store. I know of at least one that carries frozen hum bao. You just put them in a steamer for 20-25 minutes and there ya go. Delicious!
IMO my little boy looks A LOT like a miniture Goku, and Goku is one of his favorite anime character too. Perhaps next year when he's 5 I'll dress him up like Gaiden Goku and go as Konzen and then if I need to carry him or discipline him, it will just look like part of the act. ^.~

I like to make a lot of wallpapers, animated gifs, and icons for the web site my hubby and I run, and I'm working on a series of anime couples (two characters from different animes being a couple). The first one I wanted to do was with Sanzo, and it was tough finding him a matching anime girl he would hook up with. For one, she needed to be someone he wouldn't have to worry about protecting, and one that had common interests. So after a long period of thought, I found her...

I've always felt that if Sanzo would EVER get into a relationship with any woman (and I'm not seeing it in his future - he's too much the "single father" type to me ^.^;), it would have to be someone he's come to respect. I think that's the key. In the whole series, I don't think he really has respect for anyone outside of Hakkai, Koumyou Sanzo, and perhaps his superiors at the temple.

Oh! And can take the verbal abuse as well as dish it out...not to mention the physical abuse. (Damn paper fan -_-##) Though most of the time she'd prolly just smile and let him dig his own grave with his actions anyway, but quite able to get him out of them. Confident, bold, outgoing, cheerful, strong, capable, and well intimidating really to those who don't know her very well. And I think she'd have to be pretty domestic too. (Cleaning, cooking you know Goku is going to live there with them -_-;; but that's not too bad...except for whoever gets groceries :P ) Hmmm what do you guys think?

A strong underlying aspect of the story deals with reincarnation. It's well known that the Sanzo party (well with perhaps the exception of Goku) have been around each other in every reincarnation. So if you go by the theory that like souls, or destined souls seem to gravitate towards each other in every lifetime... who is that female kitten? She obviously "knows" Sanzo.
And with the naming of her... Goku calls her "fluffy", Gojyo calls her "Betty" and Hakkai calls her something like "Calico" I think. But does anyone by me remember that the Merciful Goddess actually calls her by a name? I'll need to watch that episode again, but I remember her saying something like "I would have called her ------?"

I drink but im not a big drinker but i do have to be careful because nobody except for my mom can drink because everyone is alcohol i just love the flavor of certain things so much so i only have like a glass or 2 a day of whatever.

at my sister's apartment, there was a sample program on T.V ^_^ no matter what i do, whether its taa kwondo or yoga, i end up on the floor T_T maybe i should try something like taebo or something ^_^ i used to be able to get in shape with kendo, but all i do now is practice, I WANNA SPAR SOMEONE!!! >.<...maybe the newspaper boy ^_^ i was walking by and he knew that what i was holding was a bokken, he said he took classes himself ^o^ maybe he's a higher level than me ^o^ but yeah, i originally wanted to lose weight by INTENSE SPARING!!! at least it makes you break a sweat ^_^ ... i think thats outa the picture now >.<

Eh, ever since I saw that documentary "super size me" I don't have much a stomache for fast food anyway. -__-;; I can't eat anything from Kentucky fried chicken and a few things from Taco bell...I just keep getting food poisening so yeah, I my choice of fast food is getting smaller...got a little sick from McDonalds...but that's a good thing. ^__^;;;

I saw the movie supersize me for gym class when it first came out. That movie is so disgusting. It made me puke. I have never liked fast food dairy queen is ok. I haven't eaten mcdonalds though since i was 5. Really I have never liked there food it makes me sick to think about it.

LOL ok well you asked for it... Luckily I still remember a lot of it.
It was winter and I was some anime girl with long white hair and I lived in a cave (are you laughing yet? hehe). I even had a name - Calliope. So anyways, I leave my cave (which I guess I do every day) and head out into the snow to this farm-like place. I hide behind these 5 foot tall or so stacks of wood just outside the wood fence that divides the area around the farm into acres or something.
Well in the middle of one of these acres, knee deep in snow (he's been forced to stand there for quite a while appearantly) stands Sanzo. Of course he's obviously freezing to death but being Sanzo would never admit it or let it show. He never moves, he's like a statue and I've been coming here every day to watch him stand there wondering what's going on. I know there is some evil being that hangs around this farm place, so I never enter the fenced area or let myself be known.
In the small house in the center of all these fences is Goku and Gojyo. They pace a lot, and look worried as they look out the window at Sanzo. Then some evil voice beams from above somewhere that if they try to escape, he'll strike Sanzo down, and if Sanzo moves, he'll kill Goku and Gojyo.
Wondering were Hakkai is in all of this? You're about to find out... hehe
Apparantly while I've been watching Sanzo, Hakkai has been watching me to find out if I'm good or evil. He is suddenly beside me, saying that he knows I have been watching Sanzo and asks me if I'll help them all escape that he can't do it alone. He tells me all I have to do it get Sanzo out of the fenced area, and he'll go and free the other two. I tell him I can't because I'm not strong enough, and another day goes by.
I come back the next day and everything is still the same, only Sanzo looks really sick, but he's still standing like a statue. Hakkai is there again too watching and looking worried. Suddenly Sanzo looks right at me as if he knew I had been hiding there every day all along (of course he knows - he's Sanzo ^.^) and then he collapses into the snow.
I panick and race over the fence to him, and Hakkai heads quickly to the farm house. I pull Sanzo to me, crying, and them these amazing blinding white wings sprout from my back and I lift him up and sort of carry him flying back to my cave.
When I get there I undress him and cover him with blankets next to this clever little fire that never seems to need attention (funny how dreams work like that). I'm freezing my butt off as well from the snow and carrying a freezing cold man, so I get under the blankets with him (eheh gotta love that part) and start to fall alseep.
The last thing I remember before I woke up for real was Hakkai, Goku, and Gojyo hobbling into my cave with their eyes wide with shock that I am snuggled up to a sleeping Sanzo. lol!
Well, that was my crazy detailed dream. Hope you didn't laugh too hard, and I'm not sure what I ate to cause it, but I wish I knew so I could have more! LOL!

I'd like a dream with a hot guy who doesn't want to kill me...or I'M one. ^_^ I tend to have dreams where I'm fighting for my life against really hot anime guys, or I am one...fighting for my life against ANOTHER really hot anime guy...or flirting with the ladies...I am SUCH a ladies man in my dreams I swear. It's a good thing I was born a girl I suppose. :P But yeah, I think I even had one where I was fighting Sanzo...and for once I think I was winning against a guy (I usually lose T_T) I was dodging bullets left and right charging straight for him with a sword and I closed in and slashed upward, seeing his look of "She got me" look and then got splattered with blood (it was warm ^///^) I WON!! But then thought as he slumped to the ground...damn...he was hot too! -__-;; Woke up the next morning feeling indifferent...I won and am alive...but I killed Sanzo... in the end though, I thought...I'm okay with it...he started it... am I a bad person for thinking that? :?

I don't I've only had three or two dreams, that one and one with just me and Hakkai just sitting around talking...(I was Gojyo though, it was something about going on a trip... :? ) and that other one where the merciful goddess ripped the guys apart in front of me, whilst being splattred by their blood... :? Either nothing happens, I'm a guy, and/or they die...something is very wrong with me... :cry:

man, i hate my dreams/nightscares... i have at least 3 a night and feel like i get no sleep. i'm usually running/fighting for my life, or trying to save someone else. what's worse is my dreams are always horribly scary/bloody. If someone recorded my dreams and replayed them they could probably be used in some horror film/game. =___=
i WISH i could see the saiyuki guys in my dreams... but then they'd probably be trying to kill me... :cry:

We can dream about 10-15 dreams a night because I have done it but it isnt a very common thing to happen actually. From what I have read and stuff we can dream about a bunch of things at one time though. Like have a bunch of seperate dreams pieced together as one but its hard to explain I dont mean like say a bunch of diffrent anime characters together as one I mean something else which I cant put into words. Curse minds for not forming words lol.
I never have good dreams actually. I do dream about saiyuki all the time but it isnt ever good. Did I say they were good I dont remember cause they normally arent. Most the time I'm running away from the gang or I'm killing someone. I think my most recent dream I killed goku and just sat there stabbing him over and over again. So yea but most nights I dont dream I just am in darkness. I am werid though I dream but am still tuned into whats going on like if my parents are talking I can just open my eyes and repeat the whole conversation they had while I was sleeping. I never have peaceful dreams actually I think I only have like 7 dreams but whenever I dream its one of those dreams.

well... considering the majority of us here have dreams of being killed, killing, or being chased perhaps it is merely a common human fear of darker things and our mind is just showing us that when we are asleep so we fear less when awake, or that we push these unknown fears down and they merely surface in our unconscious, ungaurded state? or perhaps we all experience this because we dont experience it during the day in our modern day lives of not so much "kill or be killed" but more of "i need my coffee". on another note since we all said that it was wierd, and yet it appears to be so common then it's... not wierd. *oooh, i'm getting all analitical! (sp?)*

I talked to someone in their sleep once and they did answer me. They were sort of being restless, so I rolled over and watched them sleep for awhile, then I asked them "what are you doing?".
"playing baseball"
"with who?"
"Boss" (their dog's name)
"what position is he playing?"
"catcher"
And then I laughed quietly and went back to bed. They never woke up and were REALLY imbarassed when I confronted them the next morning with the information.

ah man!!! *dies laughing* that's too funny!!! i talk in my sleep sometimes when i'm running for my life and fighting and stuff. we had an aunt staying over and i was dreaming i was running from some dude who wanted to fight/kill me and i was in a grocery store. a worker there asked if i needed help and i said "no thank you" in the dream (the killer was hiding on top of the shelves). well, my aunt heard me say "thank you" (didnt hear the "no") and she was all "you dont have to thank me" but of course to my embarrasement i reply "you wont kill me" :oops:
Moral of the Story:
never battle mean guys with guns and shuriken in your dreams when family is staying over! :lol:

I keep having dreams that I'm in a Resident Evil game...I almost always get eaten though. T_T What a horrible way to go man...T_T Then again my dreams begin right when the zombies are closing in and grab my limbs and begin the all-you-can-eat-Keyta-Kun-buffet...T_T and the other kinds of dreams I mangage to get away from them in a haze of gunfire, explosives, and knives with hand to hand combat techniques. I'm a hell-ova fighter in some of my dreams. But...I get infected with the T-virus!!! T_T T_T T_T I never win...T_T

I remember I once had a dream where some of my friends and I (correct grammer Oh mah gooood!!) got trapped in some old mansion that looked like the the one from the first Resident Evil. And some guys started chasing us like zombies...except they were really, really fast and they kept saying they must marry us or something or other. (Too busy running) And while one of my friends and I escaped by climbing on top a Hallmark card shelf...(for some reason they can't climb card shelfs, strange how dreams work en-it?) And for a while they clawed at us they eventually got bored and then shuffled off to find my other friends whom my friend and I got seperated from in the chase...then all of a sudden I see myself sleeping (still on the shelf with my friend) and then text appears and says: One Month Later. And I wake up to sobbing...One of my friends has been caught and she's in a wedding dress. And a wedding is going on...hers...then another of the weird zombie guys come in with another of my friends slung over his shoulder. (Wedding dress also she be wearing) And then they begin the wedding...calling me and my friend on the shelf witnesses. My friend in a fit of rage, jumps off the shelf and runs towards them. I call out to her to stop but she keeps going...I then clamor off the shelf and run after her, and just as she reaches the alter, to pummel one of the "grooms" something grabs my wrist...it was a trap. I got caught. T_T I just see this dark space for a face and it hisses "You're mine now." Then I get knocked over the head, and I wake up with a start, falling out of bed...T_T T_T And to add to the creep factor of it all, my head hurt in the exact spot where I got cracked over the head. And I didn't even hit my head when I fell outta bed!! T_T T_T

throughout my life... repeatedly. =////= my worse account was when i was sitting on this bus full of crowded people. My sister and a friend where out wondering and decided to take the bus. Well, i'm a jeans type of girl, so i dont sit lady-like, i sit well... like a guy. ^^;;;
these two women come on the bus (they looked about mid-twenties) and they were obviously mates. well, at the time i had my eyes closed as i was rather tired. next thing i know i feel a presence rather a little too close to me. i open my eyes to find the blond haired, blue eyed of the two inbetween my legs, just standing there!!!!!!! speechless i look over to my sister and friend for help but their eyes are possibly bigger than mine!
well, the bus stopped and then this older lady next to me (30?) tells the women in between my legs *cough* *cough* that there's a seat available up there. to my releif she took the seat... but continued to eye me all the way down Lancaster... :oops:
so yeah, i thanked the women who helped me and just closed my eyes, waiting for the bus ride to end so that when i got off i could freak along with my sis and friend... i think the one lady who helped me was expecting me to freak then and there... i'm way to patient for my own good... :shock:

I really liked Saiyuki the movie. It was sort of sad because it was the last time the original english actors would perform for the characters. Listening to the voice actor commentary left me teary-eyed at the end. *sniffles*
*whispers* tho I must say listening to the voices was rather exciting! ^.~
I'm currently watching the Reload series in Japanese as it's released here in the States. I just can't bring myself to watch the new english voice actors. I liked them in Gungrave, but not here very much. If they could have gotten the voice actor that played Brandon Heat to play Sanzo, it would not have been so bad.
on a side note - I'm not knocking the new voice actors, I'm sure they are doing their best, I just miss the originals.

I'm still here. I check the forum at least once a day. Although I am in the stages of planning a simple costume. I inherited a very old and from the looks of it incomplete sewing machine. I can't find parts for it, and I'm not sure if it will run for very long, so I'm thinking about my options.

Hmmm, you must have good stuff cause spray never works on my hair and it's brown. Dark brown... kinda like hakkai's. ^^;;;

i would, but i got BLACK hair T_T if i dye it silver, i have to bleach it first, then die it silver. its cheaper to just get the spray...i think i'll look kinda funny for having dark skin and silver hair permanately.

For anyone that might be interested, I finished my latest AMV called "Sanzo's Magical Singing Cat". It was suppose to be a cute vid for my little daughter, but then I discovered that it works oddly with lip sync and it went to hell from there *chuckles*
