coat after coat after coat after coat of paint.   :-\  and that was just one color.  Now I can start the second of three colors.  Yikes, it's getting to the zero hour.

Still need to so some light carving on my vash revolver and will get it sealed up tomorrow night so I can paint it this weekend.

Wolfwood still needs white crosses on blazer jacket.

Vash gloves look like crap and I ran out of brown fabric spray.  Think I will put then in dark tea bath and see how that turns out cause my cash flow isn't streaming right now.   :(

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE IN MY SITUATION.

This is my progress so far! Today I'm going to paint the socks and make her vest~

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay Kaede! I can't wait to get pictures.

Also did you know that fabric cutting is torture when being helped by a cat?

*deep sigh of relief*

I just took some test shots for Barret's waist-guard, and I feel really good about this costume right now.
This is only to show the proportions of the waist-guard and see how it fits. The jacket in these pictures is not part of the costume, just something to show how much the vest will, essentially, cover once it's done.

Sorry about the blur with this one.

Oh, and for comparison:

I am planning and have already started a minecraft cosplay. i plan to make different blocks and items as well as a working torch (with an LED of course).
I was wondering weather i should use mod podge or packing Tape. the mod podge on the axe, packing tape on pick. also is modpodge even slightly water resistant when dry? sorry for the noob questions this is my first true build for a cosplay

here  is what i have so far (not including the belt strap thing to hold it together:

the loops on the bottom are to attach to my belt thing

The belt looks great. My only critique would be that it seems like the bands are a bit wide. Though Barrets body is obviously not proportioned like a normal human.

I've been using the Mod Podge and I found out that even after it drys that it got tacky again when I used a damp rag on it to dust off  before painting.

Love your minecraft props there are great!!

Yeah, I've been struggling with that proportion problem. If I could go back in time, I'd make it a couple inches thinner. I think I'm kind of stuck for now, though. I'm just hoping to even it out with the vest and posture. I think the way I stand may help even things out, since his shoulders and arms are so broad, and his stance is so wide, maybe doing those things will minimize the guard proportionally.

should i paint it with a clear coat after modpodge to make it smooth or is the damp cloth thing good enough? the paper with the printing (i printed out the designs after enlarging the images from the game in photoshop and breaking them apart) is UNDER the modpodge. again sorry if i sound like a noob, this is my first time doing something like this.

I would try a clear sealer in a spray that you get from JoAnnes fabrics.  but test it on some of the paper first.  You could probably put on the mod podge layer first.  I've only just starting using mod podge myself.

Mod Podge isn't clear, in my experience, so I wouldn't advice putting it on over your images. But, I've not done a whole lot with it, just the simple sealing.

Modge Podge dries clear. You'd just have to choose between glossy or matte finish.
Line up:
-Kageyama (Haikyuu)
-Cordelia (Fire Emblem Awakening)
-Marauder Ashe (League of Legends)
-??? Who knows what else. Probably a cosplay I can wear my glasses with.

Bought gloves for Sailor Uranus today. I need to add the tops to those, finish my shoulder rolls, do the last bits on my leotard (a bit of hemming and sewing up the last side once the shoulder rolls are on) and then start hand-sewing. My sewing machine crapped out on me yesterday, but hopefully it'll be working better today. It's finicky like that. Although to be fair, it was my great-grandmother's from when she was young, so it's pretty damn old.

Actually got some stuff done today!!!! The belt for May Lee is about halfway done, the glasses are pretty much done also, I just need to let the paint on my things dry overnight so I can make some more progress in the morning. Thankfully this is the only new cosplay I'm bringing, so I'll have more than enough time to get everything done. =]

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is my roommate for the upcoming year.

Hmmn.. Got Kid's rings/neck thing finished. Just have to go through my crap and find my white fabric to finish the jacket, and he'll be done~ Second coat on King Kazuma's belt is drying, too. Gotta pick up some fishnets too, if I can't find mine.. yet again. My room looks like it's been hit by a tornado, so it's a little difficult to find things.. >>;

Other than those, everything is pretty much finished! I'm soooo relieved. ;_;

Just hemmed the bottom part of my coat for Kotonoha. Now to adjust the shoulders so it can fit me better.

For my brother, his baggy cargo-like pants has been obtained and he will be cosplaying as Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket. :D Now I am helping him make his black and white bead bracelet.

For his Shizuo cosplay, he is still looking for the correct vest. T_T

Almost done with Kokonoe's tail and started one of the ears. i'll have them finished and ready for the craft foam by tonight, and then I'm going to pin the green bias onto her pants and the same with the black on the coat so I can sew those on tomorrow when I sew the fluff onto Izaya's coat.

Then I'm going to style wigs like there is no tomorrow. And bust out my Maka cosplay. BUSY DAY WILL BE BUSY!!!

I thought about doing that, however, I don't have any empty wall space.   :(  You know since I'm so darn short maybe I will suspend it from the ceiling.

Got more paint on it last night and It is looking so sweet!!!  I just hope my Vash jacket makes it back from my seamstress on time.  Still need to hem up the sleeves on wolfwood blazer and put on the white crosses.  I see some all nighters this weekend.  Can't sleep anyway cause it's too muggy in Ptown.

Goal for today:
- Complete bullet belt
- Finish painting Ox King's horns
- Find suitable hat for Ox King
- Find gloves for Barret
- Sew on hem to give the hat a nice, finished edge
- Paint kanji on hat
- Affix horns to hat

Sounds reasonable. Let's see if I can pull it off.

So, Britt (kahlan4) has been working like a woman possessed on her Lia de Beaumont cosplay.

She never comes on here, but I'm too proud of her to not post her progress shots.

Vest and shirt

Boots

She still has the coat to work on, but things are almost wrapped up for this.
