Sango cosplay difficulties
« on: January 21, 2010, 01:52:23 pm »
Hello, Its been ages since I have even glanced at the forums but as I sat down to work on what I hope to make my core cosplay I came across a few minor issues, I have Sango's Hiraikotsu mostly figured out,
I am going to try carving foam pieces to the width and shape, duct tape coating then a layer of fiberglass cloth and resin before sanding and painting with an rough bone like ivory paint.
Any suggestions on that would be helpful
but I am mainly curious of opinions as to material for the armor pieces? They are sturdy enough to be armor, yet flexible I was going to see if my armorer who makes all my leather and will be helping with the binging on the Hiraikotsu could help with the armor but do you think a sturdy leather dyed and painted to the coral and grey colors would be suitable and accurate looking?

Also the dimensions I am working with for the Hiraikotsu is 6"2ft long and the center width is 20in seeing as I am 5"9, Sango's is seven inches taller than her, I am going to five to avoid dragging it on the ground!
Thanks, any help would be much appreciated!
